Palembang – PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (PT Jamkrindo) Regional Office Palembang recorded a guarantee volume of Rp 12.55 trillion during January–July 2025. Through guarantees for 163,698 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), employment absorbed in the Southern Sumatra region reached 570,658 people.
The guarantees provided by Jamkrindo in Southern Sumatra cover several provinces, including South Sumatra, Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung, and Bangka Belitung. Head of Palembang Regional Office Jamkrindo, Diki Achadiyat, explained that the guarantees have encouraged community economic activities in the real sector because Jamkrindo’s services have made it easier for MSMEs and cooperatives to access financing, as well as ensuring that government goods and services procurement activities run smoothly.
“MSMEs and cooperatives are the main drivers of economic activity in the real sector. Through credit guarantee services, Jamkrindo helps MSMEs and cooperatives gain access to financing from banks and financial institutions, so they can develop their businesses, open new jobs, and become the locomotive of economic growth,” said Diki in a discussion with journalists in Palembang, Tuesday (August 12, 2025).
Also present at the event was the Head of Jamkrindo Palembang Branch, Maulana Febrino Poerba. In addition to providing guarantee services, Diki revealed that Jamkrindo is also active in providing business assistance and financial literacy for MSMEs and cooperatives. This step aims to strengthen business capacity while at the same time improving their ability to manage financing in a sound and sustainable manner.
“With this achievement, Jamkrindo hopes that its active role can continue to provide a positive impact on regional economic growth, while also supporting the government’s target of expanding financial access for the productive sector and making MSMEs the locomotive of national development,” he said.
One bank customer guaranteed by Jamkrindo, Muslimah, said that the loan from the bank was used to increase business capital. Muslimah runs a songket weaving business in Tanjung Batu, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra, which has managed to employ at least four songket artisans.
Not only opening access to financing for MSMEs, Diki explained that Jamkrindo also plays an important role in encouraging the development of the infrastructure and construction sector through its suretyship service products. These services are present as a form of guarantee to ensure that projects run smoothly in accordance with contracts, both in private construction and government projects.
Through suretyship products, Jamkrindo provides guarantees to employers that contractors or service providers will complete their work on time and according to specifications. Thus, financial risks for project owners can be minimized, while contractors gain greater trust from employers, including access to funding sources.
“The real impact of this service is the increasing opportunities for contractors, including small and medium contractors, to be involved in national strategic projects that were previously difficult to reach. Their participation not only expands equitable employment opportunities in various regions but also drives economic activity in sectors that support national strategic projects,” said Diki.
