To commemorate Eid al-Adha, PT Jamkrindo distributed Qurbani animals to communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike previous years, where the slaughtering took place at the company’s head office, this year’s distribution was carried out across several mosques, foundations, community organizations, Islamic boarding schools, and local neighborhoods in Jabodetabek, as well as other cities in Java and beyond, while strictly following health protocols.
A total of 19 cows and 20 goats—valued at Rp 541.691.000—were donated through contributions from PT Jamkrindo’s Community Development Program (Bina Lingkungan), Koperasi Warga Jamkrindo Sejahtera, Jumat Berbagi Jamkrindo, UPZ Jamkrindo, DKM Jamkrindo, and individual employees of Jamkrindo.
Jamkrindo President Director, Randi Anto, emphasized the economic and social impact of Qurbani, particularly during the ongoing pandemic.
"COVID-19 has affected the welfare of many communities. This year’s Qurbani serves as a deeper reflection for all of us at PT Jamkrindo and the wider community. It is a moment to strengthen our empathy and follow the example of Prophet Ibrahim A.S. in showing sacrifice and compassion," Randi stated in a press release on Friday, July 31, 2020.
He also highlighted that Qurbani is not just an act of worship but also an economic driver, benefiting livestock farmers, local businesses, and communities in need. He encouraged Jamkrindo employees to enhance their social awareness and commitment to helping others, particularly during these challenging times.
"Jamkrindo actively engages in various social initiatives that benefit the wider community. Fostering a sense of compassion is essential in every individual. That’s why we strongly encourage our employees to participate in Qurbani and embrace the profound values it represents," he added.
The Qurbani animals were distributed to various locations, including: Mosques and Islamic boarding schools Masjid Al Jannah An Naim (Bekasi), Mushola At-Tauloh (Bogor), Ponpes Tanbihul Ghofilin, Masjid Al Huda (Citayam), Masjid Babussalam (Setu, Bekasi), Masjid As Shilihin (Cepu, Blora), Masjid An-Nur (Pademangan, Jakarta), Masjid Jami Al Qorieb (Petojo, Jakarta Pusat, Masjid Al Ikhlas (Kelapa Gading, Jakarta Utara), Masjid Baitul Awalin (Sragen, Jawa Tengah). According to Chairman of Jamkrindo’s Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM), Aribowo, this Qurbani program reflects the company’s commitment to social responsibility and its dedication to helping communities in need.
"Although this year’s celebration differs from previous ones, it does not diminish the essence of Eid al-Adha—both in its spiritual and humanitarian aspects. The vertical dimension strengthens our closeness to Allah SWT, while the horizontal dimension fosters our relationship with fellow human beings through sharing. We hope this initiative brings blessings, benefits all parties involved, and continues in the future," Aribowo stated.
