PT Jamkrindo commemorated its 50th anniversary on July 1, 2020, by reinforcing its commitment to supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives. The company emphasized its role in strengthening economic policies and national development programs, especially during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
PT Jamkrindo’s President Director, Randi Anto, highlighted that the 50th-anniversary celebration coincided with an extraordinary global event—the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected various aspects of life, including social and economic conditions.
"We embrace our 50th-anniversary celebration in line with our theme: 'Continuing to Contribute to the Nation,' which reflects our dedication to supporting Indonesia's economic resilience," Randi stated.
As the largest credit guarantee company, Jamkrindo was entrusted by the government to participate in the National Economic Recovery (PEN) Program as a credit guarantee institution. This initiative is aimed at protecting, sustaining, and strengthening the economic capacity of MSMEs to help them navigate business challenges during and after the pandemic.
"We strongly believe that this program benefits the economy, job creation, and opens up future business prospects for Jamkrindo," Randi added.
Beyond providing credit guarantees, Jamkrindo actively engages in MSME empowerment and mentoring programs. Over the past 50 years, the company has supported and guided thousands of MSMEs, including: Cashew Farmer Groups in Larantuka and Ciletuh Homestay Association in Sukabumi.
Jamkrindo also implemented loan restructuring programs for MSME partners affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, helping them sustain their businesses in difficult times.
The 50th-anniversary celebration was held virtually due to the new normal protocols, featuring several key events: Launching of the 50-Year Jamkrindo Commemorative Book, Sustainable aid distribution to COVID-19 affected communities (education, healthcare, and social support), Recognition from the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) with two awards.
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Jamkrindo provided financial and material assistance, including: IDR 75 million for medical workers, IDR 200 million in scholarships for medical workers' children at RS Sulianti Saroso, Three ambulances for Surabaya and Purwakarta, IDR 160 million for educational facilities at SMAN 7 Kupang, IDR 150 million for places of worship in Eastern Indonesia, Clothing donations for those in need.
Amid the pandemic, Jamkrindo launched "Jamkrindo Peduli," an internal fundraising initiative sourced from voluntary salary deductions, THR contributions, and appreciation bonuses from employees, directors, and commissioners. This initiative successfully raised IDR 4.012 billion. Additionally, Jamkrindo allocated IDR 2.5 billion from its Community Development Fund for COVID-19 relief efforts.
"We hope this assistance can ease the burden on those affected by COVID-19," Randi said.
On its 50th anniversary, Jamkrindo received two MURI records from Jaya Suprana: Fastest Legal Entity Transformation, Most Frequent Legal Entity Changes.
Jamkrindo’s journey began in 1970 as the Cooperative Credit Guarantee Institution (LJKK) and later evolved into Perum PKK, focusing on cooperative development. Over time, it expanded its coverage to MSMEs and rebranded as Perum Sarana Pengembangan Usaha (SPU). In May 2008, it was renamed Perum Jamkrindo, shifting its core business to credit guarantees.
In 2020, Jamkrindo underwent two legal transformations, first from Perum Jamkrindo to PT Jamkrindo (Persero) and later to PT Jamkrindo, marking its entry into the Insurance and Guarantee Holding Entity led by PT Bahana Pembinaan Usaha Indonesia (BPUI). This transformation strengthens Jamkrindo’s role in Indonesia’s economic growth.
"As we reach this milestone, we see it as an opportunity for continuous innovation and greater contributions to the nation," said Jaya Suprana, founder of MURI.
Jamkrindo remains committed to its vision of empowering MSMEs, fostering economic resilience, and supporting Indonesia’s development for years to come.
