Three state-owned enterprises (BUMN), led by PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) as the BUMN PIC, along with Perum Jamkrindo and PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) as BUMN co-PIC, carried out the BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri (BUMN Present for the Nation) program in North Kalimantan Province.
This series of activities, organized to commemorate the 74th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, was initiated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) and was implemented by all BUMN across Indonesia.
After conducting several Basic Needs Fulfillment (PKD) programs, Telkom and the co-PIC BUMNs held the 74th Independence Day Commemoration Ceremony on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Taman Berkampung Field, North Kalimantan.
This ceremony served as the highlight of the BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri program, with Telkom’s President Director, Ririek Adriansyah, acting as the Ceremony Inspector.
The event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Bondan Tiara Sofyan, MSi, Director General of Defense Potential at the Ministry of Defense; Eko Setiawan, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility Policy at the Ministry of BUMN, who also supervised the BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri activities in North Kalimantan; and the Finance and Investment Director of Perum Jamkrindo, along with Telkom’s Board of Directors, co-PIC BUMN Directors, and approximately 1,300 participants, including BUMN employees and students.
On this occasion, Eko Setiawan expressed hope that the BHUN program would allow communities to directly experience the benefits of BUMN’s presence in their region.
"In the past, BUMN's contribution was mostly seen as job creation and tax contributions. Now, this program directly impacts communities at the grassroots level," he stated.
Telkom’s President Director, Ririek Adriansyah, added: "The presence of BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri during the 74th Independence Day commemoration reflects our collective commitment to delivering positive impacts and encouraging the public to strengthen their love for the nation, nationalism, and patriotism."
Similarly, Perum Jamkrindo’s Director of Finance, Investment, and Risk Management, I. Rusdonobanu, expressed full support for BHUN in North Kalimantan, stating: "Our hope is that through this program, communities will truly feel the benefits of BUMN’s presence in their region."
After the ceremony, symbolic handovers of PKD program assistance took place, including: Electrification for 50 homes, Clean water facilities at 3 locations and 54 MCK (public sanitation facilities), Renovation assistance for 10 homes of BUMN employees and local residents, Distribution of 4,000 affordable basic food packages, Scholarship assistance totaling IDR 125 million for 25 elementary, middle, and high school students, Support for places of worship through proceeds from the affordable food market, Certificates for participants of the "Siswa Mengenal Nusantara" program from Riau Islands.
The activities concluded with a mass healthy walk on Sunday, August 18, 2019, with 5,000 participants consisting of BUMN representatives and North Kalimantan residents.
