Responsive Culture, A New Energy for Perum Jamkrindo

Perum Jamkrindo has a trusted, responsive, excellent, healthy, and leading work culture, abbreviated as the tagline TRUST, which serves as the backbone of its work culture. To optimize the entire work culture, the responsive culture is continuously internalized to become a new energy for Perum Jamkrindo to achieve corporate targets.

The Director of Human Resources, General Affairs, and Compliance of Perum Jamkrindo, Sulis Usdoko, stated that through a series of internalizations of the work culture, it is hoped that the behavior of all employees at Perum Jamkrindo will change. "This process takes time and starts with raising awareness about why behaviors must change, followed by motivating all employees at Perum Jamkrindo to participate and implement the new behavior, so that it becomes a personal value for each individual," said Sulis Usdoko during the presentation of Responsive Culture in the Pre Show Time Responsive Vlog Short Movie Competition at the 10th floor of the Perum Jamkrindo Multipurpose Room, on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.

The components of culture include values, mental attitudes, and behavior. According to Sulis Usdoko, values are a series of norms that underpin every activity performed by each individual. Meanwhile, mental attitudes are thought patterns needed to ensure that every individual within the organization behaves in accordance with the organization's values. Behavior is a series of actions that serve as role models for each individual, translated from mental attitudes based on organizational values.

There are several ways to become a responsive individual. These include acting quickly, maintaining the involvement of all parties, following up on initial assessments, having an organized system, showing concern for results, and being responsive to customers and partners.

Responsive culture is part of an organizational culture that includes responsive values, mental attitudes, and behavior. Responsive values can be reflected in always being alert to the needs of business partners and stakeholders. Responsive mental attitudes are reflected in always being ready to help and provide solutions, being ready for change, always having solutions to every problem, daring to try and learn new things, and viewing challenges as opportunities.

Meanwhile, responsive behavior is reflected when being proactive in providing service, showing empathy, listening to complaints and problems faced by colleagues and partners, providing solutions to problems, being communicative in providing improvement ideas, and serving with heart. "To support the internalization of responsive culture, several initiatives have been created, namely awareness initiatives, motivation initiatives, and belief initiatives," said Sulis Usdoko.

The awareness initiative is carried out through the preparation of a TRUST guidebook, the creation of a responsive filler video, a responsive logo competition, a responsive vlog competition, a lesson learned competition on responsiveness, and several quizzes. The motivation initiative is carried out through the formation of change leaders from work units, briefing change leaders and change agents, responsive champion & award, and performance management. Meanwhile, the belief initiative is carried out through reinforcement & celebration, mystery guest, and candid videos as proof.

The behavior change of all Perum Jamkrindo employees is expected to contribute to supporting the corporation in achieving its targets. Regarding business performance, in 2019, Perum Jamkrindo targeted a guarantee volume of Rp 182.36 trillion, an increase of 16.5% from the 2018 Corporate Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) target of Rp 156.6 trillion. By May, the guarantee volume had reached Rp 90.38 trillion, growing by 22.5%, with pre-tax profit (EBT) recorded at Rp 302.52 billion, or 42.37% of the 2019 pre-tax profit (loss) target of Rp 714 billion.

As of May 2019, assets amounted to Rp 17.19 trillion, increasing by 5.81% compared to assets as of December 31, 2018. Meanwhile, equity reached Rp 11.55 trillion, an increase of 2.34% compared to December 31, 2018.
