Perum Jamkrindo continues to enhance its role and function in fostering and developing national Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). As the largest guarantee company, Perum Jamkrindo consistently innovates to improve financial accessibility for MSMEs and Cooperatives.
The latest innovation initiated by Perum Jamkrindo is a marketplace guarantee platform (MPG) called the "UMKM Layak" application, which creates a captive guarantee market. This application can be accessed through the website umkmlayak.co.id and functions as a tool to analyze the feasibility of MSME businesses, while also connecting eligible MSMEs with financial institutions that provide credit.
Perum Jamkrindo’s President Director, Randi Anto, stated that within "UMKM Layak," Perum Jamkrindo plays a role in assessing the feasibility of MSME businesses through a rating system that integrates the Jamkrindo Scoring (JScore) methodology, psychometrics, LPIP (Credit Information Management Institution), and National ID data.
The "UMKM Layak" application makes it easier for MSMEs to access funding from Jamkrindo’s financial institution partners. Perum Jamkrindo acts as a supplier of potential MSME data that are eligible for credit and guarantees to partner financial institutions, including both banks and non-banks.
"As a tool to analyze the feasibility of MSME businesses, the 'UMKM Layak' application combines business data and information, character analysis through psychometrics, and credit/financing history of the MSMEs. With thorough analysis, we expect to eliminate asymmetric information between MSMEs and financial institutions," said Randi Anto in a press release on Friday, March 15, 2019.
From the MSME perspective, by having the "UMKM Layak" rating, MSMEs will have a clearer picture of their status and a stronger bargaining position. Meanwhile, from the financial institution side, especially banks, the "UMKM Layak" application can serve as a reference for credit applicants who are truly eligible for financing.
Furthermore, Randi stated that Perum Jamkrindo has carried out socialization activities in Semarang by collaborating with the MSME mentoring association, the Indonesian Business Development Services Association (ABDSI), to ensure more MSMEs are informed about this breakthrough in credit guarantee by Perum Jamkrindo.
"The more MSMEs that can benefit from the 'UMKM Layak' service, the greater financial access will be for MSMEs. This will play a role in the equitable distribution of the national economy," he said.
Perum Jamkrindo’s Head of Risk Management and PUKM Division, Ceriandri Widuri, added that hundreds of MSMEs attended the socialization of "UMKM Layak." In addition to gaining access to financing, MSMEs registered in the "UMKM Layak" application can also receive training sessions organized by Perum Jamkrindo.
"This application is still in the pilot project phase. We plan to first socialize it in four regions with a target of registering 1,000 MSMEs in the application, who can then apply for credit/financing from banks," said Ceriandri.
