GORONTALO – As part of its commitment to environmental and educational concerns, Perum Jamkrindo carried out social and environmental responsibility by distributing scholarships to 15 students from Elementary (SD), Junior High (SMP), and Senior High (SMA) schools in Gorontalo Province. This initiative is a manifestation of the BUMN Hadir Untuk Negeri (SOEs Present for the Nation) program.
In addition to scholarships, Perum Jamkrindo also contributed to the reading garden at SD 14 Telaga Biru, located in Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, as part of the same program. The initiative aims to make the presence of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) more tangible and beneficial to the community.
The scholarship assistance was provided to 15 students, each receiving IDR 5,000,000, with a total of IDR 75,000,000 for the environmental assistance (Bina Lingkungan) on December 14, 2018.
Perum Jamkrindo coordinated the program together with Perum Perumnas, as part of the BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri initiative. A series of activities were carried out to ignite the spirit of the Red and White (Indonesia's national flag) in Gorontalo, including Siswa Mengenal Nusantara (SMN), a healthy walk, flag ceremonies, and social assistance programs aimed at fulfilling basic community needs, such as public infrastructure, labor-intensive programs, cheap markets, and the provision of clean water facilities in the Pantai Hiu Paus, Bone Bolango Regency area, held from October 25 to November 25, 2018.
Randi Anto, President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, emphasized that this was the fourth time BUMNs across the country have simultaneously carried out BUMN Hadir Untuk Negeri activities in various regions. This initiative reaffirms the BUMN's commitment to being actively present in the community. The activities carried out in Gorontalo Province are part of the broader BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri program.
“This is our commitment and a tangible manifestation of Perum Jamkrindo’s role in fostering understanding of the Ministry of SOEs as agents of development. BUMNs continue to play an active role in national development as a form of real work from SOEs in contributing to the independence that our heroes fought for,” said Randi Anto in Gorontalo, Saturday (August 18, 2018).
According to Randi Anto, the healthy walk event was one of the several activities organized by the Ministry of BUMN to celebrate Indonesia's 73rd Independence Day across all provinces in the country. (Public Relations)
