Perum Jamkrindo and Askrindo Collaborate in Joint KUR Guarantee

JAKARTA – Perum Jamkrindo and PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Persero), or Askrindo, have formed a synergy regarding the guarantee of Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR). This collaboration was marked by the signing of a cooperation agreement (PKS) on Joint Credit Guarantee for the implementation of KUR on Wednesday, December 26, 2018.

Randi Anto, the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo and Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Guarantee and Insurance Companies (Himppara), stated that the signing of this PKS is a follow-up to a memorandum of understanding that had been previously signed. In addition to optimizing the gearing ratio and sharing risks, the synergy between Perum Jamkrindo and Askrindo will add value to the acceleration of KUR guarantees and ease the KUR guarantee service process. "This is because the data submission for joint guarantees will be done in a connected manner," said Randi Anto.

Furthermore, Randi explained that with this joint guarantee, both companies can focus more and provide better services to their customers, as they no longer compete for market share. The types of credits collaborated on include KUR Mikro, KUR Kecil, KUR for Indonesian Migrant Workers, and KUR Khusus. "The joint guarantee percentage is in accordance with the KUR regulations, with 50% for Jamkrindo and 50% for Askrindo," he added.

As a company appointed to guarantee KUR, Perum Jamkrindo’s reputation has been recognized. Perum Jamkrindo received an award as the best KUR guarantee company in the KUR Award event from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.

Over time, KUR has evolved into a credit program with schemes that match the needs of micro and small businesses, while ensuring the accuracy of its target beneficiaries. This is reflected in the emergence of several KUR financing schemes, such as KUR for Indonesian Migrant Workers, which serves as a financing solution for Indonesians going abroad for work, and KUR Khusus, which caters to financing needs in the people's plantation, livestock, and fisheries sectors.

According to data from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, from 2015 to the third quarter of 2018, KUR was distributed to 13,258,016 micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs with a total plafond of IDR 317 trillion. KUR disbursement has also been accompanied by maintained credit quality, as reflected by the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio, which stood at 1.24% as of 2018.

Randi Anto also mentioned that this collaboration is a concrete and initial step, and will be followed by cooperation between Himppara members, including in operational aspects. This way, optimal benefits and results will be achieved for both the company and the nation of Indonesia. (Public Relations)
