Perum Jamkrindo Receives Appreciation as the Best KUR Guarantor

JAKARTA – Perum Jamkrindo received the "Best I KUR Guarantor" award at the KUR Award event held by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. The award was presented directly by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Darmin Nasution, to the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, Randi Anto, at the Grand Mercure Kemayoran Hotel on Thursday, November 22, 2018.

Randi Anto stated that Perum Jamkrindo continues to innovate and develop its products for the benefit of UMKM (micro, small, and medium enterprises). "This award serves as an encouragement for Perum Jamkrindo to keep innovating and providing excellent services for the benefit of UMKM," said Randi Anto after receiving the award.

The KUR Award is given to the best local governments, guarantors, and supporters of the KUR program. Darmin Nasution explained that the purpose of the award is to motivate local governments, guarantors, and other supporters of the KUR program to participate actively in assisting the government with the KUR distribution.

The award assessment process was carried out by a Judging Team and a Technical Team led by Iskandar Simorangkir, Deputy for Macro Economy and Financial Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, with members from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Financial Services Authority, Bank Indonesia, Indonesian Institute of Sciences, and University of Indonesia.

The assessment criteria included the fulfillment of tasks related to the KUR program, efforts to support KUR distribution in the production sector, with winners being selected through qualitative assessments based on documents, presentations, and interviews.

The KUR program has undergone several changes, both in its scheme and regulations. One of the developments set by the government to further support UMKM is the reduction in interest rates. In 2018, the KUR interest rate was 7 percent, down from 9 percent in 2017 and 12 percent in 2015-2016.

These changes in the scheme, regulations, and information systems have had a positive impact on the performance of the KUR program. From 2015 to 2018, the KUR program has been distributed to 13,258,016 UMKM, with a total ceiling of IDR 317 trillion. The good performance in KUR distribution has also been followed by the maintained quality of KUR, which is reflected in the NPL rate of KUR at 1.24 percent as of 2018.

As of Q3 2018, the KUR guarantee by Perum Jamkrindo reached IDR 41.302 trillion, with 1.65 million UMKM having been guaranteed. (Humas)
