Perum Jamkrindo Sends Volunteer Team to Palu

After previously sending logistical aid for three consecutive days, Perum Jamkrindo once again dispatched a volunteer team to Palu, Central Sulawesi, on October 11, 2018. In synergy with other State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) volunteer teams, Perum Jamkrindo sent its volunteers to help with post-earthquake and tsunami recovery efforts in the Donggala and Palu regions of Central Sulawesi.

Perum Jamkrindo's President Director, Randi Anto, stated that the vast damage, loss of life, and displacement caused by the earthquake and tsunami left a deep sorrow for all components of Indonesian society. Assistance from the public arrived in droves, not only in the form of logistics but also with thousands of volunteers from both domestic and international communities working tirelessly around the clock for victim evacuation. Perum Jamkrindo, too, contributed by sending a volunteer team to assist with recovery efforts in all affected areas.

Randi Anto also expressed his appreciation and full support for the Perum Jamkrindo employees who volunteered to help the people of Donggala and Palu, who had entered the recovery stage. The Perum Jamkrindo Peduli Palu volunteers will work in coordination with other BUMN volunteers to assist both the community and Perum Jamkrindo employees affected by the disaster.

"Besides helping the community, we also want this volunteer team to help ease the burden of our colleagues at Perum Jamkrindo who have been affected by the disaster," said Randi during the symbolic event to send off the Perum Jamkrindo Volunteer Team to Palu in Jakarta on Thursday, October 11, 2018.

The Perum Jamkrindo Branch Office in Palu was one of the locations severely damaged by the earthquake and tsunami. Additionally, several employee homes were also heavily damaged, but fortunately, all employees were in good condition. "We will continue to make the best efforts for all Perum Jamkrindo employees in the affected areas," said Randi.

Perum Jamkrindo will provide house renovation assistance to employees whose homes were damaged by the disaster and will also send additional help to ensure that Perum Jamkrindo employees in Palu can resume their activities. Previously, Perum Jamkrindo quickly moved to send logistical aid for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Donggala and Palu, Central Sulawesi, for the fourth time.

The aid was sent through the Perum Jamkrindo Branch Office in Makassar, including essential items such as food, bottled water, biscuits, and clothing, which were distributed through the designated BUMN disaster coordination office in Palu. In addition to distributing aid to the general public, Perum Jamkrindo staff initiated a self-fundraising campaign, purely aimed at helping both employees and the general public affected by the disaster.

With this assistance, Randi Anto hopes that it will be directly beneficial to the disaster victims. "Certainly, initiatives like these are greatly supported to foster solidarity among employees," he said.
