PEKANBARU - Perum Jamkrindo's Pekanbaru branch has won the ICSB Indonesia Presidential Award 2018 from the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) at the Gebyar UKM 2018 event held at Hotel Tjokro, Pekanbaru, on Thursday (14/9/2018).
The award, given by a global organization that cares for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), was received by Jamkrindo Pekanbaru as an appreciation for its role and contribution to the advancement of SMEs in the Riau region.
Ilham Prasojo, Head of Jamkrindo Pekanbaru, expressed his pride in the company's achievement, as this marks another award for the state-owned enterprise (BUMN) that he leads in Pekanbaru. This achievement is the result of Jamkrindo and its staff working together to support SMEs and provide credit guarantees for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in the community.
Perum Jamkrindo has earned numerous awards from various regional organizations. Ilham mentioned that the central office has also received several awards due to the company's excellent performance and its role in the community.
These awards show that Jamkrindo plays a central role in helping and supporting economic growth in Indonesia.
"When people need a credit guarantee, they turn to Jamkrindo. That's the mindset we're working to build," he said.
Ilham explained that one of Perum Jamkrindo’s products targeting SMEs is the guarantee for Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR), a program highly promoted by the government.
"This is one of the products that directly connects with SMEs. We're also benefiting from the government’s expansion of the sectors eligible for KUR, which now covers ten different sectors, including replanting oil palm and more. We’re pushing forward with our guarantee for these developments," Ilham added.
He mentioned that the KUR guarantee product has grown steadily for Perum Jamkrindo in 2018. The company has successfully guaranteed around Rp 800 billion in Riau so far, and the program will continue until the end of the year.
"Our target for the branch by the end of 2018 is around Rp 1.2 trillion. This means we’ve already guaranteed about 70% of that target for KUR. We’re on track to meet this target by year-end," explained Ilham.
