Perum Jamkrindo is involved in the electrification program in West Java (Jabar) and Banten through a cooperation agreement between PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) and 34 other BUMNs, signed at the Ministry of BUMN building on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. The cooperation agreement for this program, initiated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), was also witnessed by the Minister of BUMN Rini Soemarno and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Ignasius Jonan.

The Director of Finance, Investment, and Risk Management of Perum Jamkrindo, I. Rusdonobanu, said that in the electrification program in West Java and Banten, Perum Jamkrindo is participating in providing electricity connections for 500 families in West Java. The electricity connection assistance from Perum Jamkrindo will be distributed to recipients in Bogor Regency, Bogor City, Bandung Regency, and Garut Regency.

“Perum Jamkrindo is involved in this program to help improve the electrification ratio in West Java and Banten. The increased electrification ratio will encourage the increase in productivity of the community, as various productive activities can be carried out with the help of electricity-powered tools,” said Rusdonobanu in a press release.

According to Rusdonobanu, Perum Jamkrindo does not only function as a credit guarantee BUMN for the public and businesses. More than that, through its involvement in the electrification program in West Java and Banten, Perum Jamkrindo is genuinely present for the country and fosters a spirit of collective effort in realizing social responsibility.

As is widely known, the electrification program is part of the BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri (BUMN Present for the Country) initiative. The implementation is based on the Ministry of BUMN Letter No. -114/S.MBU/07/2018 dated July 13, 2018, regarding the Electrification Program for South West Java and Banten. BUMNs are asked to contribute to increasing the electrification ratio in their assigned areas as determined by the Ministry of BUMN.

Through this program, the new electricity connections are targeted to reach 103,000 households by October 28, 2018. The estimated cost required is around IDR 56.9 billion. The low-income households receiving this program are selected and determined based on data from the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K).

According to PLN's record, the current electrification ratio of West Java Province is 96.79%, with 334,260 households still without electricity connections. The low-income households receiving this program will get a 450 VA power supply with a subsidized tariff and a prepaid system.
