JAKARTA - As a form of concern and sympathy for the education sector, as well as a commitment to contributing to the intellectual development of the nation's youth, Perum Jamkrindo has distributed tens of thousands of educational support packages. These packages, consisting of textbooks, school uniforms, stationery, and educational books, have been distributed to 132 schools across various regions in Indonesia.
Perum Jamkrindo's President Director, Randi Anto, stated that the social initiative, titled Gerakan Jamkrindo Peduli Pendidikan (Jamkrindo Cares for Education), was launched to alleviate the educational burden on underprivileged students and to encourage all employees of Perum Jamkrindo to contribute to improving the quality of school education.
A total of approximately 53,000 items were packaged into 27,000 educational support packages, which were distributed to 66 Elementary Schools (SD) and 66 Junior High Schools (SMP). "This educational aid is expected to help ease the burden on students as they start the new academic year. It is part of Perum Jamkrindo's initiative to play a role in improving the quality of human resources in Indonesia through the education sector," said Randi Anto.
The distribution of these educational aid packages was carried out simultaneously on Tuesday (July 17, 2018) at 10:00 AM local time across various regions, including the head office, 9 regional offices, KCK Jakarta, and 56 branch offices of Perum Jamkrindo. Specifically, the head office distributed 6,000 educational aid packages, with symbolic assistance being provided at Al Irsyad Al-Islamiyah SD and SMP in Jakarta.
At the same time, Perum Jamkrindo's work units across various regions distributed assistance in their respective areas. In this program, the Supervisory Board, Directors, and all employees voluntarily contributed books, stationery, and uniforms for SD and SMP students.
The Jamkrindo Peduli Pendidikan program has been well received by all Perum Jamkrindo employees, as evidenced by their enthusiasm in collecting various items to support education activities. In addition to personal donations from employees, some of the aid came from the company's Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL).
This educational initiative is part of the series of events celebrating the 48th anniversary of Perum Jamkrindo, which was commemorated on July 1. In addition to this activity, Perum Jamkrindo has also carried out a series of other social welfare activities, including free cataract surgeries for 70 people in Sumedang, West Java, blood donations, and the distribution of 4,800 food packages and assistance to 3,470 orphaned children.
