JAKARTA – Perum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) has become the world’s first Sharia guarantee institution, with its outstanding Sharia financing guarantees continuing to grow.
"This year, we have been recognized as the world's first Sharia guarantee institution," said Jamkrindo President Director, Nahid Hudaya, in Jakarta, Tuesday (27/12).
He stated that in approximately 10 years, the outstanding Sharia financing guarantees of this 30-year-old state-owned enterprise (BUMN) have reached Rp 4.9 trillion.
This amount is distributed across various business sectors operated by cooperatives and MSMEs.
"Since 2003, our business partners have expanded with the signing of a cooperation agreement with Bank Syariah Mandiri," he said.
Currently, Jamkrindo has established Sharia financing guarantee agreements with several Islamic banks and financial institutions.
The types of Sharia financing contracts (akad) that the company can guarantee include murabahah, salam, istishna', mudharabah, musyarakah, ijarah, and ijarah muntahiyah bittamlik.
"The administrative requirements that must be met by customers include the identity of the guaranteed party, a feasibility study of the business, and other documents in accordance with the guaranteed product," he explained.
For counter bank guarantees, the guarantee coverage ranges from 75% to 100% of the bank guarantee value, depending on the type of bank guarantee and the requirements set by the guarantee recipient.
Currently, Jamkrindo, which is in the process of transitioning into a limited liability company (PT), collaborates with various partners, including Islamic banks, Islamic banking units, non-bank Islamic financial institutions, Islamic rural banks, and other Islamic financing institutions.
