JAKARTA - The Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Rini Soemarno, attended the signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between Perum Jamkrindo and PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk regarding online suretyship guarantees on Thursday, May 17, 2018, on the 21st floor of the Ministry of BUMN building.

The signing was carried out by the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, Randi Anto, and the President Director of PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk, Rahmad Pribadi, witnessed by the Deputy Minister of BUMN for Financial Services, Survey, and Consulting Services, Gatot Trihargo; Deputy Minister for Energy, Logistics, Zone, and Tourism, Edwin Hidayat Abdullah; Deputy Minister for Construction and Infrastructure Services, Ahmad Bambang; and the Assistant Deputy for Financial Services, Survey, and Consulting Services, Bandung Pardede.

In her speech, Rini emphasized the importance of synergy among BUMN companies to improve efficiency. Additionally, she stated that through synergy, it would be possible to address disparities and ensure the equitable distribution of economic welfare across regions in Indonesia, thereby acting as agents of development.

"BUMN should not only focus on profit but also on contributing to the environment and the development of Indonesia's economy," she said.

Randi Anto, the President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, stated that this cooperation is one of the breakthroughs in BUMN synergy. "The scope of this Cooperation Agreement (PKS) is to cooperate in optimizing business activities," said Randi Anto. The online suretyship cooperation consists of Bid Guarantees, Performance Guarantees, Advance Payment Guarantees, and Maintenance Guarantees.

With the online suretyship system, the vendors of PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk no longer need to visit the nearest Perum Jamkrindo office to apply for a guarantee. The 300 vendors can simply visit PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk to fill out the digital form independently. "With this breakthrough, the process of applying for guarantees becomes easier and more efficient, thus assisting contractors in managing their tender documents with the presence of Perum Jamkrindo offering guarantees for projects at the same time and place, at PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk," he explained.

Randi further added that this cooperation is a strategic step to optimize business potential and improve the synergy and smooth operations for both parties based on mutual benefit principles. Perum Jamkrindo can target guarantee volumes from the Capex and Opex of PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk, while PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk gains better management control and data. "With the digital records, the database will improve, and PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk can easily monitor which projects are not yet guaranteed, improving the optimization of capital expenditures," he said.

In Perum Jamkrindo, suretyship and non-bank guarantee business lines are still very promising. In 2017, the volume of Suretyship and Non-Bank Guarantees reached IDR 27.44 trillion, or 20.27% of the total guarantees amounting to IDR 135.36 trillion.

With this cooperation, Randi hopes that the synergy and collaboration built with PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk will become even stronger. He also hopes that the breakthrough implemented by Perum Jamkrindo can be applied to other BUMN companies and private companies. "This cooperation is an important milestone to support synergy with a bigger impact," he added.
