As a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) that leads the guarantee industry, Perum Jamkrindo continues to play an active role in driving national economic growth.
One of Jamkrindo’s active contributions is through supporting the independence and empowerment of Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises, and Cooperatives (UMKM-K).
This effort aligns with the mandate of Law No. 1 of 2016 on Guarantee and Government Regulation No. 41/2008, positioning Jamkrindo as a bridge between UMKM-K (guaranteed) and financial institutions, both banks and non-banks (guarantee recipients).
This allows UMKM-K to access financing or credit for working capital or investments, helping them sustain and grow.
According to Sulis Usdoko, Director of Human Resource Management, General Affairs, and Compliance at Jamkrindo, to continue supporting UMKM-K empowerment, Jamkrindo needs to be supported by expert human resources (HR).
There are three core competencies needed for Jamkrindo’s HR to drive the UMKM-K industry business.
First, Jamkrindo’s HR must be experts in the guarantee field. Second, experts in UMKM-K. Third, experts in effectively managing the UMKM-K database.
Managing the UMKM-K database is critical, as no institution or body currently has a comprehensive UMKM-K database that the industry can rely on.
Therefore, moving forward, Jamkrindo will continue to work on building innovative competencies for managing the UMKM-K database to advance the industry.
"This is infrastructure that is not easy to build. The fact is, even with incomplete data, UMKM-K is still being targeted by foreign investors through digital businesses. Once this data infrastructure is in place, economic growth will be much higher," said Sulis Usdoko to reporters in Jakarta recently.
With today’s technological advances, according to Sulis, collecting UMKM-K data should be easier. For example, using e-KTP, SID, credit rating data, behavioral data, and other relevant data that can be processed to create a healthy and sustainable UMKM-M ecosystem to boost the National economy, with a focus on equitable development.
In addition, credit rating bureaus like Pefindo can also be utilized. "In the future, we hope to hold data on 50 million, even 100 million UMKM-Ks, including the emerging UMKM-Ks spread across Indonesia," he concluded.
