The National Congress (Munas) of the Indonesian Guarantee Companies Association (Asippindo), held in Jakarta on Monday, August 14, 2017, has elected R. Sophia Alizsa as the new Chairperson, succeeding the late Nanang Waskito, Director of Human Resources, General Affairs, and Compliance at Perum Jamkrindo.
R. Sophia Alizsa, who currently serves as the Director of Operations and Network at Perum Jamkrindo, will lead Asippindo until 2018.
The Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Asippindo, Diding S. Anwar, expressed hopes that Asippindo would become a driving force in improving the financial inclusiveness index, particularly in facilitating access for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKMK) to financial institutions. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing the professionalism of Asippindo members' human resources and providing excellent services to Asippindo's partners.
"Thus, it is expected that the guarantee companies will be solid and successful in advancing the national economy through the guarantee of UMKMK," said Diding.
Currently, Asippindo has 23 member companies, consisting of 1 state-owned enterprise (BUMN), 18 regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), and 4 private companies. As of June 2017, the total guarantee amount provided by Asippindo members reached Rp 150.88 trillion. There are now 23 guarantee companies, and efforts are underway to ensure each province will have its own Jamkrida.
R. Sophia Alizsa expressed her gratitude and requested the support of all members in fulfilling the trust bestowed upon her to improve the role of Asippindo in advancing the guarantee industry.
"Asippindo is committed to accelerating the guarantee industry in the country. The business potential is still enormous and is expected to be fully explored. This way, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, as well as cooperatives (UMKMK), can be better served," said R. Sophia Alizsa.
