Perum Jamkrindo Improves Company Performance and Competence

In the first semester of 2017, Perusahaan Umum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Perum Jamkrindo) focused on maintaining the sustainability of the company by concentrating on market share mastery and product innovation to enhance the company's performance and competence in facing competition, aiming to become a leading guarantee company that supports the development of the national economy.

As of June 2017, the company successfully recorded strong performance by maintaining growth in profit, assets, and equity. The company’s total assets amounted to IDR 14.15 trillion, with equity at IDR 11.10 trillion, and a pre-tax profit of IDR 841.44 billion, or 84.7% of the target.

Perum Jamkrindo's President Director, Diding S. Anwar, explained during the inauguration of the Environmental Development Park at Perum Jamkrindo's headquarters in Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Friday, July 28, 2017, that the company is committed to improving performance and competence to face competition and become a reliable and prominent guarantee company to support the development of the national economy.

Performance Achievements

For performance achievements, the company recorded a net guarantee income up to June 2017, which increased by 248.50% from last year, amounting to IDR 793.74 billion, compared to IDR 297.69 billion in the previous year. The total consolidated income reached IDR 1.313 trillion, consisting of net guarantee fees that increased by 121.18% to IDR 883.03 billion, investment income of IDR 283.26 billion, and other income of IDR 147.51 billion.

The total realization of credit guarantee volume up to June 2017 amounted to IDR 72.3 trillion. The largest portion, 65% or IDR 47.5 trillion, came from non-KUR (Kredit Usaha Rakyat) guarantees, while the remaining IDR 24.8 trillion was from KUR guarantees.

Contribution to MSMEs

Since its establishment in 1970, Perum Jamkrindo has made significant contributions to advancing MSMEs in Indonesia. In its 47th year, Perum Jamkrindo continues to grow as the locomotive of the guarantee industry in Indonesia. The theme for this year is “Guaranteeing MSMEs Towards a Glorious Indonesia.”

“The company remains committed to expanding the guarantee market by opening new collaborations with both banking and non-banking sectors and conducting strategic studies to create guarantee products that meet the offerings of banks/non-banks,” said Diding.

Expanding the Guarantee Products

Perum Jamkrindo was established to support and implement government policies and programs in the fields of economics and national development by providing credit guarantees to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as well as cooperatives.

Some of the key products include general credit guarantees, microcredit guarantees, bank guarantees/counter guarantees, construction and procurement credit guarantees, goods distribution guarantees, multipurpose credit guarantees, KUR guarantees, surety bonds, BPR/BPRS credit guarantees, Sejahtera FLPP housing guarantees, customs bonds, cargo agency guarantees, and invoice financing guarantees.

Plans for Second Semester Performance

To improve performance in the second semester, Diding mentioned that the company will continue to enhance its performance through various strategic initiatives, such as expanding its network by adding branch offices and service units. Currently, the company has 56 branch offices and 14 service units.

For business reliability, the company is also implementing an integrated IT system to improve the effectiveness of business processes in supporting operational activities. The next initiative is the optimization of the operational network by setting organizational standards, business targets, work unit appearances, and classifications to be applied across all Perum Jamkrindo branches.

Recently, Perum Jamkrindo also launched a new service—its call center. According to Diding, this service is still in its initial stage, aimed at providing product information and communication with Customer Service Representatives.

"In the future, this service will continue to be developed. The roadmap could add other information, such as the network and claims information," he added. He also mentioned that Jamkrindo partners and customers can contact 1500701 for the call center service. Diding stated that this service will further enhance the role of MSMEs.
