The President Director of Perum Jamkrindo, Diding S. Anwar, conducted a Ramadhan safari to the Zubaedy Orphanage in Watampone, Bone Regency, South Sulawesi, on Monday, June 5, 2017.
At the orphanage, Diding S. Anwar, accompanied by the Head of the UMKM Ranking and Management Consulting Division, Nina Kurnia Dewi, and the Head of the Makassar Regional Office IX, Hamim Bugi Afianto, was warmly welcomed by the orphaned children, the caretakers, and the management of the orphanage.
During the visit, Diding provided donations to dozens of the orphaned children. This donation also served as a gesture of gratitude in anticipation of Perum Jamkrindo’s 47th anniversary, which falls on July 1, 2017.
The Perum Jamkrindo officials had the opportunity to tour the orphanage, which is located next to the Watampone Grand Mosque in the Bukaka Village, the hometown of Vice President Jusuf Kalla. They were impressed by the creativity of the children in the orphanage, who are skilled at making handicrafts to sell.
Diding S. Anwar and several other Perum Jamkrindo officials purchased some of the children’s handicrafts, such as cookie containers, decorations, and more, as souvenirs. "I hope these children can become entrepreneurs one day. And Jamkrindo is ready to guarantee their business loans to banks for capital," said Diding.
In addition to providing donations to each child, Perum Jamkrindo also gave operational assistance to the Zubaedy Orphanage. Diding expressed his respect and admiration for the orphanage’s efforts in caring for and educating underprivileged children so well. "These children are our future, the next generation," Diding said.
Ani Amrullah, the manager of the Zubaedy Orphanage, mentioned that there are 60 children under their care, with some children living outside the orphanage. Additionally, 25 children are already attending university and are helping to mentor the younger children at the orphanage.
"For operational costs, we have both permanent and non-permanent donors. We also receive funds from the sale of crafts made by the children," said Ani Amrullah. The Ramadhan safari event concluded with an iftar (breaking the fast) and Maghrib prayer together at the Watampone Grand Mosque.
Watampone was the first location for the Ramadhan safari by Perum Jamkrindo’s President Director Diding S. Anwar. The Ramadhan safari continued in Tanjung Selor (North Kalimantan) on June 12-13, 2017, Flores (East Nusa Tenggara) on June 14-15, 2017, Mandailing Natal (North Sumatra) on June 17-18, 2017, and Lubuk Linggau (South Sumatra) on June 19-20, 2017.
