Perum Jamkrindo Creates a Reading Garden in Sembalun, East Lombok

SEMBALUN - Perum Jamkrindo, alongside several other State-Owned Enterprises (BUMNs), has provided assistance through the Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL) in the Sembalun area, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. This aid is part of a program initiated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to support local economic development, with the involvement of nine BUMNs, including Perum Jamkrindo, Bank BRI, Bank BNI, Bank BTN, Angkasa Pura II, Bank Mandiri, Perum Bulog, Pupuk Indonesia, and SHS.

The event was attended by Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini M. Soemarno, Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita, Minister of Rural Development Eko Putro Sandjojo, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, as well as the Governor and local District Head. Also present were Perum Jamkrindo’s CEO Diding S. Anwar and several other officials from the company.

Diding stated that the PKBL is carried out based on the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Regulation No. Per-09/MBU/07/2015 regarding the Partnership and Community Development Programs of State-Owned Enterprises, which was established on July 3, 2015, and has been consistently implemented annually.

Furthermore, Diding explained that Perum Jamkrindo's PKBL activities focus primarily on social and community welfare projects. "This is because these activities directly benefit those in need. Additionally, this initiative aims to introduce Perum Jamkrindo to the public, especially those who are not familiar with the business operations of the company," he said.

Diding also mentioned that a total of IDR 15 billion has been allocated for all Community Development activities throughout 2017.

During the event, Perum Jamkrindo, through its PKBL Division, handed over 3 three-wheeled motorcycles symbolically, presented by CEO Diding S. Anwar. In addition, Perum Jamkrindo also established a Reading Garden in two elementary schools, SDN 02 and SDN 03 Sembalun, East Lombok, with a total assistance of IDR 100,000,000 for the two schools.

The Reading Garden at the schools has been completed and includes various books, such as textbooks, children's stories, science books, one computer, and bookshelves. The teachers and students at these schools warmly welcomed the establishment of the Reading Garden by Perum Jamkrindo.

Perum Jamkrindo also provided training on the administration of the school reading gardens and reading interest training for the local community in East Lombok.

The Perum Jamkrindo Reading Garden had the honor of being visited by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Rini M. Soemarno, during the review of this activity. (Public Relations)
