Jamkrindo Re-Partners with Kajati for Claims and Subrogation

MEDAN I Perusahaan Umum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Perum Jamkrindo) collaborates with the High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati) across Indonesia to resolve legal cases related to claims and subrogation. This collaboration is outlined in a memorandum of agreement signed by both parties in Medan, North Sumatra.

Perum Jamkrindo President Director Diding S Anwar stated that this cooperation aims to enhance the effectiveness of the collection process related to subrogation receivables. "Thus, risk mitigation and state financial recovery can be carried out early," said Diding on Wednesday (5/10) evening.

Diding explained that this collaboration is also crucial when Jamkrindo receives legal notices and lawsuits from guaranteed recipients. "We need a legal opinion from the Prosecutor's Office to minimize legal risks and ensure that claim decisions made do not violate the applicable laws and regulations," Diding explained.

According to Diding, as of August 31, 2016, Jamkrindo's subrogation balance had nearly reached IDR 4.2 trillion. "From January to August 2016, subrogation amounted to IDR 146 billion, while claims paid during the same period totaled IDR 492 billion," he revealed.

Diding emphasized that signing this agreement with the Prosecutor's Office would enable early state financial recovery. "Hopefully, the synergy between Perum Jamkrindo and the Prosecutor's Office can protect state financial management effectively and safeguard state funds from the outset," Diding concluded.

Jamkrindo Director of Human Resources, General Affairs, and Compliance Nanang Waskito added that optimizing subrogation collection is essential. "This issue is crucial as it serves as one of the company's revenue sources," he said.

Meanwhile, Jamkrindo Director of Operations and Network Sophia Alizsa noted that since subrogation revenue remains relatively low in some regional offices, mapping out collection issues is necessary. "Based on data from regional offices, the steps taken so far have not been effective, so we will prioritize which cases need immediate attention," she stated.

To address this, the company will intensify cooperation with both state-owned and private banks. "We will follow up with banking institutions, especially major banks, since their values are significant," she added. As a result, Jamkrindo is currently gathering data from several branches to be forwarded to Jamdatun or the High Prosecutor's Office.

Meanwhile, Deputy Attorney General for Civil and State Administration (JAM Datun) Bambang Setyo Wahyudi stated that his office would maximize efforts to collect Jamkrindo's non-performing loans. "This signing is a serious effort by the Prosecutor's Office to provide legal assistance," he said.

His office will also map out non-performing loans experienced by Jamkrindo nationwide. "We will work optimally next year with the available data," he added.

The cooperation agreement with the Prosecutor's Office, specifically Jamdatun, has been conducted in three batches: Batch I was previously held in Makassar, where Perum Jamkrindo branch offices under the jurisdiction of Regional Office IX (Makassar), together with the High Prosecutor’s Offices of South Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Maluku, North Maluku, and Papua, signed the joint agreement on May 4, 2016, Batch II took place in Denpasar, Bali, on August 31, 2016, involving Perum Jamkrindo branch offices in the working areas of Regional Offices V (Semarang), VI (Surabaya), VII (Denpasar), and VIII (Banjarmasin), along with the High Prosecutor's Offices of Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan, Batch III was conducted in Medan on Wednesday (5/10/2016), involving Regional Offices I (Medan), II (Palembang), III (DKI Jakarta), IV (Bandung), and the Special Branch Office (DKI Jakarta), along with 14 High Prosecutor's Offices, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau Islands, Riau, Jambi, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, Lampung, Bangka Belitung, Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Kalimantan, and West Java.
