MAKASSAR | Perum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) Region IX Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua has allocated a ceiling of up to IDR 40 million for renovating veterans' houses.
This initiative from the only state-owned enterprise (BUMN) in the guarantee sector is still part of the BUMN Presence for the Nation program in commemoration of the 71st Independence Day of Indonesia.
The Head of Jamkrindo Region IX Sulawesi, Maluku, and Papua, Hamim Bugi Afianto, stated that the effort to renovate the homes of independence fighters is still part of the BUMN activities in celebrating the 71st Independence Day of Indonesia.
All BUMNs participated in this initiative, with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) assigning different regions. Specifically, for Jamkrindo in the Sulampua region, the locations are in Palu, Central Sulawesi, and South Sulawesi (Sulsel). The number of houses renovated totaled 46 units, with eight units completed in Palu and 38 units for veterans' houses in South Sulawesi.
"On average, each BUMN company was assigned 40 units. We were given around 46 units. We have already renovated eight units in Palu," said Hamim on Friday (16/9/16).
For each house renovation, the company allocated up to IDR 40 million, sourced from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund. However, the amount was adjusted based on the renovation needs of each house.
"We provide assistance according to the renovation needs," he explained. To optimize the program, the company collaborated with the Indonesian Veterans Legion (LVRI) to obtain accurate data on veterans' housing conditions.
"The renovation work will be carried out by the military command (Kodam)," Hamim said. He hopes this initiative can help Indonesian independence fighters in their later years. (Source: Sulsel.fajar.co.id).
