"Jamkrindo Motor Rider, Jaya!" shouted M. Natsir Rahmadi, Corporate Secretary of Perum Jamkrindo. The participants immediately echoed the cheer. The glare of lights and the shrill sound of horns added to the excitement. It was time for the lineup of motorcycles to begin their adventure toward the city of tasbih.
The Jamkrindo Motor Rider convoy filled the front yard of the Jamkrindo building. This time, around 30 people participated in the tour titled JMR Goes to Purwakarta. Each participant was equipped with hand and foot protectors, a vest with the JMR logo—short for Jamkrindo Motor Rider—and a thick jacket.
Understandably, the journey took place at night, covering almost 100 kilometers. The event began with a message from the President Director, who was unable to attend at the time. Then, the JMR chant was shouted to boost morale. A flag waved as a signal that the journey was ready to begin.
The route passed through Bekasi, Tambun, Karawang, and Cikampek, taking approximately 3.5 hours. The journey started precisely at 00:00 WIB, piercing through the silence of the night while adhering to the Safety Ride principle. Merging with other riders yet remaining cohesive, the convoy formed a tight barricade.
At exactly 03:30, the group arrived at their first destination, the Purwakarta Branch Office. Participants took a break while waiting for the morning to arrive. After coordinating with branch colleagues, the journey continued to visit MSMEs producing food souvenirs and clay crafts. Getting to know MSMEs up close was a special mission of this JMR tour, conducted in celebration of Jamkrindo's 46th anniversary.
Enjoying sate maranggi was a must in this adventure. The taste of grilled, spice-marinated meat quickly replenished the riders' energy. While savoring the dish, M. Rizal Zailani, the event chairman, took the initiative to invite participants to discuss the concept for Jamkrindo's anniversary greeting video. Jatiluhur Dam was chosen as the main location for documenting JMR's activities.
Choosing the dam, built in 1957, was indeed the right decision. Besides functioning as a Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA), Indonesia's largest dam is also a tourist attraction. Understandably, the natural beauty surrounding the dam is undeniable. The video production process proceeded solemnly, although permit challenges were inevitable.
The mission was accomplished, and it was time to return to Jakarta. The long journey would become a cherished memory. Every lesson learned would serve as preparation for the next trip. Plans for a new adventure were already in the works. Happy smiles and laughter became the sweet conclusion to JMR Goes to Purwakarta. (JMRed.)
