WONOSOBO | Perum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Persero) stated that it has managed to achieve up to half of the credit guarantee target throughout 2016, which was set at IDR 115 trillion.
Director of Perum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) Diding S. Anwar revealed that in its work plan, the company targeted a credit guarantee of IDR 115 trillion. Of this amount, IDR 50 trillion was allocated for the People's Business Credit (KUR) guarantee, while the remainder would cover various other types of credit.
According to him, Jamkrindo was able to realize this annual target in the first semester of 2016. "As of June 30, we have already achieved half of it, or even more," he said during a series of events celebrating the 7th anniversary of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) on Friday (July 29, 2016).
Diding stated that the realization of credit guarantees was quite significant in line with the government's efforts to improve the investment climate, particularly for MSMEs, by lowering KUR interest rates. He explained that this condition led to rapid growth in KUR distribution, accompanied by its guarantee.
Additionally, he emphasized that this situation also stimulated the distribution of non-KUR credit and its guarantees. Moreover, he noted that the increase in credit distribution is now being realized not only by banks but also by other financing institutions such as multifinance and venture capital.
Diding stated that guarantees in the non-KUR segment have even grown more significantly. "Non-KUR is aggressive, and MSMEs are also in that segment. The KUR guarantee, compared to the target, is also slightly lower at 50%."
Diding explained that in the non-KUR segment, Jamkrindo's guarantees are still dominated by the trade and services sectors. Credit guarantees in the maritime sector, which are also encouraged by government programs, have shown growth.
Furthermore, Diding said that credit guarantees in the infrastructure sector have also increased significantly in line with the government's efforts to boost development. "Internally, we are also continuously improving, expanding outlets, branches, and other facilities to reach customers. So, the realization is significant," he said.
As a state-owned company, Diding continued, Jamkrindo is also promoting various activities to support the improvement of community welfare, one of which is providing assistance to MSMEs.
He also cited an example in Wonosobo, where the company allocated funds from the Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL) for the construction of a dock and provided two tourist boats at Telaga Menjer as an effort to support and enhance the tourism potential in the area, along with distributing basic food packages to the surrounding community and improving public toilets.
These activities were part of the anniversary celebration of several State-Owned Enterprises under the theme "In Harmony with Nature" in Wonosobo, Central Java. (Source: Bisnis Indonesia.com)
