Jamkrindo Cheap Market Invaded by Residents

BATANG | Perum Jamkrindo (Perusahaan Umum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia) held a low-cost market for the community at the Pasekaran Village Hall, Batang, on Friday (June 24).

The event was a form of social concern as well as an effort to anticipate the rising prices of basic necessities during Ramadan and ahead of Eid al-Fitr. In this low-cost market, residents could purchase a basic food package worth Rp 150,000 for only Rp 25,000. The Head of the Perum Jamkrindo Pekalongan Branch, Ratnawati, stated that the low-cost market was part of the Ramadan Safari program held simultaneously in 538 regencies/cities across Indonesia.

The event coincided with istighotsah led by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Rini Soemarno, in Garut, West Java. In addition to the low-cost market, the state-owned company also provided donations to orphans. "The low-cost market in Batang Regency was held in Pasekaran Village. A total of 385 basic food packages were distributed. The packages, valued at Rp 150,000, were sold for Rp 25,000. The proceeds from the sales will be donated to mosques. We are also providing donations to 50 orphans," she said.

Boosting Growth

Ratnawati explained that as a state-owned enterprise tasked with guaranteeing credit for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Perum Jamkrindo continues to be proactive in accelerating guarantee growth.

Perum Jamkrindo plays a crucial role in helping MSMEs access financing from financial institutions, both banks and non-banks. This allows MSMEs to utilize resources and infrastructure provided by the government to expand their businesses. "Perum Jamkrindo aims to grow aggressively with a roadmap to strengthen competitiveness in order to improve the company's performance and competencies. This is in preparation for competition as a leading guarantee company supporting national economic growth. In 2016, Perum Jamkrindo set a target of Rp 115 trillion in MSME credit guarantees," she said.

Vivi, a resident of Pasekaran Village, expressed her happiness about the low-cost market. She was pleased that for just Rp 25,000, she could receive a package of basic necessities, including rice, kerosene, and sugar, worth Rp 150,000. "The food package is quite affordable at this price. Thank you for organizing a low-cost market in our area," she said.
