Micro Businesses Dominate KUR Absorption

JAKARTA | The People's Business Credit (KUR) Committee of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs stated that as of June 6, 2016, the distribution of KUR had reached Rp 40.6 trillion. The credit was distributed to a total of 1,650,650 debtors.

The Secretary of the KUR Committee, Eny Widiyanti, said that Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) remained the largest distributor of KUR, with the largest allocation of Rp 67.5 trillion. This amount consists of Rp 61 trillion for micro KUR, Rp 6 trillion for retail KUR, and Rp 500 billion for KUR for migrant workers (TKI).

"BRI has distributed KUR amounting to Rp 29.07 trillion, with an outstanding amount of Rp 27.76 trillion. It has been distributed to 1,486,908 debtors," Eny told Republika.co.id on Tuesday (June 21).

The details of BRI's KUR distribution include an outstanding micro KUR of Rp 21.59 trillion to 1,439,171 debtors. Retail KUR amounted to Rp 6.3 trillion for 47,163 debtors. Meanwhile, KUR for migrant worker placement reached Rp 6.1 billion for 574 debtors.

According to BRI's Director of Business and MSMEs, Mohammad Irfan, micro KUR remains the largest segment despite the sluggish economy. As of the second week of June 2016, BRI's total KUR distribution, according to Irfan, had reached Rp 34.5 trillion.

"If the economy is not doing well, the micro sector is still active," said Irfan.

As for Bank Mandiri, as of June 17, 2016, KUR distribution was recorded at Rp 6.57 trillion for 151,746 debtors. Bank Mandiri's Corporate Secretary, Rohan Hafas, detailed that retail KUR amounted to Rp 4.68 trillion for 53,895 debtors, while micro KUR stood at Rp 1.89 trillion for 97,783 debtors. KUR for migrant workers reached Rp 1.09 billion for 68 debtors.

Meanwhile, Bank Mandiri's KUR allocation is Rp 13 trillion, consisting of Rp 1 trillion for micro KUR, Rp 11 trillion for retail KUR, and Rp 2 trillion for KUR for migrant workers.

For Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), as of June 6, the total KUR distribution had reached Rp 5.17 trillion out of the allocated Rp 11.5 trillion. (Source: www.republika.co.id)
