PALEMBANG – The Indonesian Credit Guarantee Corporation (Perum Jamkrindo) Palembang regional office is targeting a profit of Rp62 billion this year. According to Palembang Regional Head Aribowo, this target is realistic, given Jamkrindo's strong performance.
"As of May alone, our profit has already reached Rp28 billion. Our estimate for the first semester is a realization level of 55 percent," said Wibowo, accompanied by Palembang Branch Head Heriyanto, when met after a fast-breaking event and donation distribution to 46 orphans from orphanages and foster homes on Saturday (June 18).
Aribowo stated that among the branches under the Palembang Regional Office, which covers five provinces, the Palembang branch contributes the most. "In terms of business sectors, People's Business Credit (KUR) still dominates business contributions," he said.
Moreover, with strong support from KUR guarantees as a government-appointed credit guarantor amid the government's aggressive push to increase KUR distribution, the impact is also significant for Jamkrindo. "For us, the KUR quota we are guaranteeing this year is Rp1.9 trillion, and as of now, it has already reached Rp600 billion," he explained.
Jamkrindo also has a broad scope, covering bank guarantees, surety bonds, and consumer credit. "We are optimistic that the business will continue to grow," he said. He also noted that Jamkrindo has recorded remarkable national growth since 2005. "At that time, our assets were at Rp600 billion, but now they have surpassed Rp11 trillion," he concluded.
