Jamkrindo Holds Socialization of KUR, SRG and LKM in Medan

MEDAN | Perum Jamkrindo conducted a socialization event on the guarantee of People's Business Credit (KUR), Warehouse Receipt System (SRG), and Microfinance Institutions (LKM) to improve services for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives (UMKMK).

This socialization event was held in Medan and Prapat, North Sumatra, on Thursday (June 16, 2016). A discussion was also held, attended by the Director of Export for Industrial and Mining Products at the Ministry of Trade, Didi Sumedi, representing the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Deputy Commissioner for Non-Bank Financial Industry Supervision of OJK II Dumoly F. Pardede, represented, and President Director of Jamkrindo Diding S. Anwar.

Diding S. Anwar stated that Perum Jamkrindo would conduct this socialization activity in all nine Regional Offices (Kanwil), starting with Regional Office 1, centered in Medan. "North Sumatra is the first because Perum Jamkrindo is starting this in the first Regional Office," said Jamkrindo's President Director, Diding S. Anwar.

In this socialization, Perum Jamkrindo adopted the theme 'Wonderful Toba,' aligned with the local tourism destination, with the hope of promoting the region's tourism, thereby fostering economic growth and MSMEs in the area.

"In North Sumatra, we are showcasing Lake Toba, and in other regional offices, other tourist destinations will also be promoted so that MSMEs can grow alongside the development of tourism in those areas," said Diding.

According to Deputy Commissioner for Non-Bank Financial Industry Supervision of OJK II Dumoly F. Pardede, socialization of government programs such as KUR, SRG, and LKM is essential so that these programs can be effectively utilized by the community. He acknowledged that public awareness of these programs is still very low, preventing their full potential from benefiting the people. "Public knowledge of KUR, LKM, and SRG is still lacking," he said.

He stated that MSME businesses are community-based enterprises with great potential and continuous growth. However, their growth is always hindered by capital constraints.

For this reason, Dumoly hopes for a more active role through banking and guarantee units in villages to be closer to the community. "Banks are urged to expand KUR distribution with broader coverage so that all communities can be served and MSMEs can continue to grow, especially in North Sumatra," said Dumoly.

He also supports the promotion of regional tourism potential to stimulate MSMEs, as seen in the 'Wonderful Toba' theme, with the hope of creating a multiplier effect in improving the regional economy through MSME growth. For SRG socialization, Dumoly also hopes that its presence can be promoted so that communities can utilize credit for commodity owners through financing from banks and other state-owned enterprises.

"It is hoped that by next year, it can run quickly so that it can multiply and eliminate loan sharks and middlemen," he said.

The same applies to the existence of LKM as a financing institution in villages through the role of institutions at the village level. (public relations)
