JAKARTA | The President Director of the Revolving Fund Management Institution (LPDB) KUMKM, Kemas Danial, appreciated the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between LPDB and PT Penjaminan Jamkrindo Syariah, PT Jamkrida Sumatera Barat, and PT Jamkrida Nusa Tenggara Timur. Through this collaboration, it is expected to have a positive impact on the growth of KUKM in Indonesia.
The MoU signing took place on the 2nd floor of the LPDB building, Jalan MT Haryono, South Jakarta, on Thursday (12/5/2016). Present at the event were LPDB President Director Kemas Danial, PT Penjaminan Jamkrindo Syariah President Director Kadar Wisnuwarman, PT Jamkrida Sumbar President Director Munandar Kasim, and PT Jamkrida NTT I President Director Franky Amalo.
"With LPDB's collaboration with the guarantor institutions, hopefully, we can handle all future issues together. We express our gratitude to all parties who have signed this memorandum of understanding," said Kemas in his speech.
This collaboration signifies the necessity of working together, particularly in providing guarantees, so that LPDB can extend credit to KUKM entrepreneurs. As information, LPDB has disbursed approximately Rp 7.2 trillion in funds, of which Rp 1.3 trillion has been allocated using a sharia-based scheme.
"A guarantor institution is very important for us to collaborate with. There are several advantages because LPDB does not distribute revolving funds sporadically; we follow regulations, including referring to ISO 9001 in credit disbursement procedures. So, it is truly very secure," said Kemas.
He considers the MoU with Jamkrindo Syariah necessary due to the increasing public interest in obtaining credit from LPDB under the sharia scheme. Therefore, his party is proposing the appointment of a director specifically to handle sharia matters. Meanwhile, for the conventional scheme, collaborations with Jamkrida Sumbar and Jamkrida NTT are a follow-up to previous MoUs.
"Hopefully, this collaboration with the guarantor institutions will help us ensure that the welfare of the people, particularly KUKM entrepreneurs, continues to grow so that the government's target of a 5.2 percent increase in 2016 can hopefully be achieved," he concluded.
PT Penjaminan Jamkrindo Syariah President Director Kadar Wisnuwarman sees this as an extraordinary advancement by LPDB in allocating 33 percent of its financing scheme to sharia-based financing. Compared nationally, sharia banks only allocate 5 percent.
"This makes it clear why we chose to collaborate with LPDB. As a guarantor institution, we are ready to participate in providing sharia-based financing guarantees from LPDB," said Kadar.
The cooperation agreement between Jamkrida Sumbar and LPDB has been in place since 2013. Up to now, Jamkrida Sumbar has guaranteed nearly Rp 450 billion in credit, focusing on the KUMK sector. Since Sumbar is not known as an industrial region, SMEs play a crucial role in driving the local economy.
"His (Kemas') expectations align with ours, that we will focus on cooperatives and SMEs. This does not mean neglecting the medium sector, but our focus is on SMEs, in line with the Ministry of Cooperatives' program to advance SMEs," explained PT Jamkrida Sumbar President Director Munandar Kasim.
Meanwhile, according to PT Jamkrida NTT I President Director Franky Amalo, the MoU signing with LPDB was an opportunity long awaited. So far, they have mainly collaborated with BPD in providing guarantees to entrepreneurs. Since 2015, a total of Rp 482 billion in guarantee funds has been distributed to 5,500 customers.
"We will involve a banking analyst to minimize losses or potential NPL from customers," he stated. (www.harianterbit.com)
