Jamkrindo Ready to Guarantee Startup Business Credit

JAKARTA | The President Director of Perusahaan Umum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Perum Jamkrindo), Diding S. Anwar, revealed that the startup business is very promising and has great potential for continued growth. Seeing this condition, his party is ready to enter the credit guarantee market for startup companies.

"The business potential of startups is very good, although it needs to be further explored," said Diding in the discussion "Supporting the Growth of Start-Up Companies with Credit Guarantees and Venture Capital" organized by Infobank and Jamkrindo in Jakarta on Thursday, April 21, 2016.

Diding himself believes that the credit potential for startup companies is very large. Therefore, it is possible for his company to enter this business sector as a credit guarantor.
Moreover, as a guarantee company, Diding stated that Jamkrindo has a very large guarantee capacity, totaling up to Rp 300 trillion, even though in its RKAP target, Jamkrindo set a credit guarantee target of only Rp 115 trillion this year. "As a guarantee company, we support the business growth of startup companies," he explained.

Mobile Service

At the same time, Perum Jamkrindo, a credit guarantee company, will launch 34 mobile service units throughout Indonesia this year. This initiative aims to support the growth of credit guarantees for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which are targeted to reach Rp 115 trillion by the end of 2016.

Perum Jamkrindo's President Director, Diding S. Anwar, at the Seminar on Supporting the Growth of Start-Up Companies with Credit Guarantees and Venture Capital, stated that the launch of mobile service units in Jakarta serves as a pilot project. Eventually, each provincial capital in Indonesia will receive one unit.

"We are preparing 34 Jamkrindo mobile service units. These will be distributed to each provincial capital. The vehicles will operate in areas that do not yet have branch offices and will provide credit guarantees, distribute People's Business Credit (KUR), and other services," said Diding at the Shangri-La Hotel.

Regarding its implementation, Diding stated that the company has allocated a budget of less than Rp 5 billion to provide 34 Jamkrindo mobile service units. The expectation is that these units will be available soon, without having to wait until the end of the year. "By July-August, all of them should be launched, but they need to be modified first," he explained. (Public Relations)
