Jakarta | Two state-owned enterprises, namely the Indonesian Credit Guarantee Public Corporation (Perum Jamkrindo) and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM), signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on Micro Mekaar Financing Guarantee.

Mekaar is the Family Welfare Development (Mekaar) program, where Jamkrindo guarantees the microcredit financing distributed by PNM. This initiative aims to boost the economy and improve community welfare, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises and cooperatives (UMKMK).

"This partnership cooperation is highly strategic and aims to further improve the performance of each stakeholder, both in terms of increasing the realization of Credit/Financing by PNM as well as boosting the Guarantee volume by Perum Jamkrindo," said Perum Jamkrindo's President Director, Diding S. Anwar, in Jakarta on Thursday (11/02/2016).

Present at the signing of this cooperation agreement were directors from both parties. Representing PNM was its President Director, Parman Nataatmadja.

Both Jamkrindo and PNM are state-owned enterprises committed to the development of micro and small businesses (UMK) in Indonesia. This business capacity development and microcredit distribution program is expected to produce local entrepreneurs and strong, mature families through business training, mentoring, and motivation.

Perum Jamkrindo's President Director, Diding S. Anwar, previously stated that Jamkrindo is optimistic about the continued growth of the guarantee business. Jamkrindo targets a credit guarantee volume of Rp115 trillion in 2016, with Rp65 trillion from non-KUR guarantees and the remainder from KUR guarantees.

As a guarantee company, Perum Jamkrindo provides guarantees to PT PNM. Both institutions share the same vision of providing opportunities for the community, particularly UMKM, who have not yet been able to access capital sources for financing.

As of the end of December 2015, Perum Jamkrindo was in a strategic growth position in line with the company's equity and asset growth. Perum Jamkrindo recorded a pre-tax profit of Rp780.179 billion by the end of December 2015.

The company's total assets as of December 31, 2015, amounted to Rp11.388 trillion. This value increased compared to the assets recorded at the end of 2014, which were Rp10.02 trillion (year-on-year). Meanwhile, equity was recorded at Rp9.267 trillion, up from Rp8.417 trillion as of December 31, 2014.

To improve service to its business partners, Perum Jamkrindo has established a service network throughout Indonesia. To date, Jamkrindo has a total of 56 branch offices and 10 service unit offices. (team)
