Jakarta | To accelerate the development of new and renewable energy, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) is collaborating with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to encourage the role of institutions engaged in financial services.

"OJK encourages the financial services industry to expand financing in the energy sector, which has great potential, while also supporting the government's priority sector for accelerating the development of new energy, renewable energy, and energy conservation," said OJK Chairman Muliaman D. Haddad on Wednesday (3/2/2016).

This collaboration is also expected to help improve the availability of national energy stocks while supporting efforts in energy conservation.

This memorandum of understanding is intended as a guideline for cooperation and coordination to accelerate the development of new energy, renewable energy, and energy conservation by enhancing the role of financial service institutions in accordance with their respective duties and authorities.

The purpose of this memorandum of understanding is to establish cooperation and coordination in supporting the government's program to accelerate the development of new energy, renewable energy, and energy conservation by ensuring the availability of electricity infrastructure through the increased role of financial service institutions.

The scope of cooperation in this memorandum of understanding includes the implementation of technical coordination to enhance the role of financial service institutions in the development of new energy, renewable energy, and energy conservation, which covers policy coordination, information and data exchange, coordination of energy sector business entities, and education.
