Gorontalo | Perusahaan Umum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Perum Jamkrindo) fully supports the existence of micro, small, and medium enterprises and cooperatives (UMKMK), especially in Gorontalo, in enhancing competitiveness ahead of the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community. One way to achieve this is by promoting competitive regional flagship products supported by available resources.
This was the key takeaway from the National Entrepreneurship and UMKMK Seminar and Business Management Technical Guidance organized by Yayasan Bina Citra Insani in collaboration with Perum Jamkrindo in Gorontalo, Gorontalo Province, on Monday (28/12/2016).
Perum Jamkrindo Director R Alizsa Sophia, who was a speaker at the event, stated that Perum Jamkrindo is highly concerned with the progress of UMKMK. “Jamkrindo is a state-owned enterprise whose core business is guaranteeing credit for micro, small, and medium enterprises. One of the infrastructures needed by UMKM is certainly access to capital,” she said.
Not only that, but SMEs also need mentoring to develop good management practices and continuously improve their product competitiveness. With the ASEAN Economic Community approaching, SMEs must be willing to compete and strengthen their competitiveness with other ASEAN countries.
More specifically, the seminar’s organizing committee chairman, Yerri Sinubu, explained that the purpose of this event is to enhance knowledge, skills, and technical expertise in entrepreneurship, particularly in management, appropriate technology, product packaging, and business proposal development. “Additionally, we want entrepreneurs to understand the process of applying for business permits and forming business partnerships,” he said.
The seminar was also fully supported by the Chairman of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Fadel Muhammad. Meanwhile, Zainal Abidin Umar, Head of the UMKM and Entrepreneurship Center at UNG, was also present as a speaker. *team
