Jakarta | The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), together with all SOEs, once again held a series of events for "Siswa Mengenal Nusantara" on Friday (23/10) last week. The event, held in Cakung Cilincing, Jakarta, was part of the "BUMN Hadir untuk Negeri" series.
The event, attended by around 5,000 people, took place at Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (BKN), Jalan Raya Cakung Cilincing No. 1, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. It was a continuation of the coordination between the Ministry of SOEs and various state-owned enterprises that had previously carried out activities during the commemoration of Indonesia’s 70th Independence Day in August.
On this occasion, a student from Aceh Province, Silvana Elviana, had the opportunity to go on stage along with other students from various provinces in Indonesia. Silvana Elviana and another student, Moch. Ichlasul Amal, were 11th-grade students from SMA Modal Bangsa Aceh. They, along with their accompanying teacher, Mr. Bukhori, from the same school, were students under the guidance of Perum Jamkrindo's Aceh branch.
The "Siswa Mengenal Nusantara" program aims to introduce the richness and diversity of the archipelago to selected students. Later, they will participate in an inter-provincial student exchange program.
On this occasion, the Minister of SOEs, Rini Soemarno, apologized to the attendees as President Jokowi was unable to attend. "I apologize that the President could not be here. I am sorry, workers and veterans, that you only got me," she said at the time.
She explained that the President was absent because he was focusing on handling the haze issue affecting several regions in Indonesia. She also assured that the programs carried out by President Jokowi were for the welfare of the people. (team)
