Asippindo-LPEI-APPI Sign MoU to Guarantee Export-Oriented Financing, Creative Economy and MSMEs

Jakarta | The Indonesian Credit Guarantee Association (Asippindo), together with the Indonesia Eximbank (LPEI) and the Indonesian Financial Services Association (APPI), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Export-Oriented Financing Guarantees, Creative Economy, and MSMEs. The MoU was signed at the Financial Services Authority (OJK) office in Jakarta on Monday (28/09/2015).

The MoU was signed directly by Asippindo Chairman Diding S. Anwar, LPEI Managing Director Isnen Sutopo and Omar Baginda Pane, as well as APPI Chairman Suwandi Wiratno. This strategic partnership aims to create synergy to accelerate national economic growth through the acceleration of Export-Oriented Financing, Creative Economy financing, and financing for MSMEs.

Asippindo Chairman Diding S. Anwar stated that Asippindo, with its 20 members (see infographic box - ed.), is ready this year to guarantee credit of more than IDR 100 trillion for all credit/financing schemes. Through export-oriented financing guarantees, Asippindo hopes to help boost national exports, and now is the right moment to do so. Meanwhile, guarantees for creative economy financing will encourage national creativity and innovation, ultimately enhancing the national economy supported by Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protection. Financing for MSMEs will further complement government programs with support from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs.

Through this collaboration, each party is also committed to providing guidance and assistance to customers who have received financing from APPI and LPEI and have obtained guarantees from Asippindo.

Asippindo considers the guarantee volume from the non-bank financial industry sector to be quite prominent. One of Asippindo's members, Perusahaan Umum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Perum Jamkrindo), even reported a significant surge in the volume of non-bank guarantees. The recorded growth in non-bank guarantees reached 451.94%, rising from IDR 702.29 billion (first semester of 2014) to IDR 3.17 trillion (first semester of 2015). (team)
