SOUTH SULAWESI – The Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga, officially launched the Micro and Small Business License (IUMK) at KUD Allepolea, Lau District, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, on Monday (16/3).
"With the existence of IUMK, micro and small business actors are facilitated in obtaining legality or business permits. This is important as a legal basis and at the same time makes it easier for them to access empowerment facilities," said the minister from Bali.
The Deputy for Restructuring and Business Development of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Brahman Setyo, explained that micro and small business actors who register at the sub-district office to obtain a business license will be given an IUMK card.
"By simply providing an Identity Card (KTP), SME actors can register at the sub-district office and obtain an IUMK card," explained the man from East Java. The card is issued by Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI). Through this card, business actors can access loan facilities.
Of course, the banking sector will first assess which micro and small business actors are eligible for loans. "Those who meet the requirements will be given loans for business capital. The loans are guaranteed by guarantee companies that are part of Asippindo," said Brahman Setyo.
For the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, he continued, this program is very important to collect real data on micro and small business actors throughout Indonesia. If all business actors register and their data is managed in BRI's database, the exact number of MSMEs in the country and the types of businesses they run will be known.
"This will make it easier for the government to formulate policies to develop MSMEs in this country," he said. Until now, MSME data has only been based on surveys. As a result, the exact number, locations, and types of businesses are not precisely known.
