As a form of concern for the flood victims in the DKI Jakarta area, Perum Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Perum Jamkrindo) provided assistance amounting to Rp 200 million through the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of DKI Jakarta Province.
The symbolic handover of the aid was conducted by the Director of Finance and Investment, Ignatius Rundonobanu, and the Director of Operations of Perum Jamkrindo, Herry Sidharta, to the Chairperson of PMI DKI Jakarta Province, Rini Sutiyoso, at the Jamkrindo Building in the Kemayoran area, Monday (27/1/2014).
Herry Sidharta stated that the assistance was provided as a gesture of empathy for the flood victims.
"We are providing this assistance to empathize with our brothers and sisters affected by the flood disaster. Hopefully, this aid can alleviate the burden of those who have been struck by the disaster," said Herry Sidharta.
The Chairperson of PMI DKI Jakarta, Rini Sutiyoso, expressed her gratitude to the leadership of Perum Jamkrindo for the assistance provided to the flood victims in Jakarta.
"We extend our thanks for the concern shown by Perum Jamkrindo for the Jakarta flood disaster. This assistance will be distributed to the residents of Jakarta affected by the floods," said Rini Sutiyoso.
The financial aid is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program managed by each state-owned enterprise (BUMN). The CSR Program is a social empowerment initiative by BUMNs to improve community conditions, utilizing funds from a portion of the BUMN's profits.
In addition to the flood victims in DKI Jakarta, Perum Jamkrindo also provided assistance to flood victims in the Banten region through the Perum Jamkrindo DKI Jakarta Branch, amounting to Rp 50 million. For the flood victims in Manado, aid was distributed through the Perum Jamkrindo Manado Branch, totaling Rp 50 million. Meanwhile, for the victims of the Mount Sinabung disaster, assistance was channeled through the Perum Jamkrindo Medan Branch, amounting to Rp 48 million.
With the assistance provided by Perum Jamkrindo, it is hoped that the burden on the affected communities can be alleviated.
