A Garuda Indonesia 737-800 aircraft carrying President SBY’s delegation landed smoothly at the TNI AU base, Adi Sucipto, in Yogyakarta around 09:30 WIB on Monday (22/10). The arrival of President SBY and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono was greeted by the Governor of DIY, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, along with his wife, GKR Hemas.
President SBY and First Lady Ani appeared coordinated in red attire. The President wore a red batik shirt paired with black trousers, while the First Lady looked radiant in a red dress complemented by batik fabric.
From the Adi Sucipto TNI AU Base, President SBY and his delegation proceeded directly to the Sheraton Mustika Hotel to attend the International Microfinance Conference 2012. President SBY is set to inaugurate this international event organized by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs.
The international conference, which focuses on microfinance, will run for two days until Tuesday (23). It is attended by 420 participants from 22 countries, including finance and banking practitioners, academics, community empowerment activists, and microfinance enthusiasts.
The event features several seminar sessions with professional panelists in the field of microfinance, including Professor Muhammad Yunus (former CEO of Grameen Bank and Nobel Laureate), Larry Reed (Director of the Global Microcredit Campaign, USA), and Jay K. Rosengard (Director of the Financial Program at Harvard University, USA).
