Jamkrindo Hosts Digital Financial Literacy Workshop in 10 Cities

Jakarta - In an effort to strengthen the capabilities of Indonesia’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) amid the country’s accelerating digital economy, PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) has launched a national initiative titled “UMKM Siap Tancap Gas: Financially Literate, Digitally Ready, and Innovation-Driven.” The Digital Financial Literacy Workshop series was held concurrently in 10 cities across Indonesia, underscoring Jamkrindo’s commitment to enhancing MSME competitiveness and resilience through education, innovation, and digital transformation.

Abdul Bari, Acting President Director of Jamkrindo, emphasized that the initiative represents the company’s active role in supporting MSMEs—not only as a guarantor, but also as a growth partner.
“Financial literacy and digital capability are essential tools to help MSMEs scale up and thrive in a fast-changing world. These workshops are designed to be practical and immediately applicable so that participants can implement what they’ve learned in their daily business operations,” said Bari.

The workshops featured a range of topics, including the strategic role of Jamkrindo in business development, training on digital financial reporting, practical guidance on using point-of-sale (POS) systems through the UMKM Layak application, and insights on digital marketing and product innovation strategies.

Held in collaboration with regional stakeholders—including local governments, cooperatives offices, and Bank Indonesia branch offices—the workshops attracted more than 500 MSME participants across the cities of Sukabumi, Batu, Padang, Sorong, Tarakan, Pangkal Pinang, Mataram, Medan, Pontianak, and Kudus. This broad partnership network was critical to expanding the program’s reach and ensuring that participants received continued support after the sessions concluded.

In a distinctive follow-up to the workshops, Jamkrindo is providing one month of intensive mentoring for all participating MSMEs. During this period, entrepreneurs will be guided through the implementation of digital POS systems via the dedicated platform umkmlayak.co.id, a digital tool developed to facilitate transaction recording and bookkeeping for small businesses.

Bari further noted that tapping into information technology and social media platforms can unlock new opportunities and markets for MSMEs. “This program goes beyond financial literacy. It aims to enhance innovation capacity and digital adaptability—skills that are indispensable in today’s economic landscape,” he said.

He reaffirmed Jamkrindo’s long-standing commitment to the empowerment of Indonesian MSMEs. “We are dedicated to helping small businesses grow stronger and more competitive, so they are well-prepared to navigate a dynamic and digitally driven economy,” Bari concluded.
