Jamkrindo Launches Empowerment Program for Inmates at Tangerang Correctional Facility

Tangerang – In commemoration of Mother’s Day, PT Jamkrindo, in collaboration with Wenddy Mikael (WM Academy), has unveiled an empowerment initiative titled “Aku Bangkit dan Berdaya” (I Rise and Empower). The program primarily targets women inmates at the Class IIa Women’s Correctional Facility in Tangerang.

Officially launched on December 27, 2024, the program will span three months. According to Aribowo, Jamkrindo’s Corporate Secretary, this marks an initial effort to introduce a structured program aimed at supporting the inmates’ mental well-being and bolstering their self-awareness.

Aribowo expressed hope that the program would help inmates boost their morale and self-confidence. Throughout their incarceration, the women have received various practical skills (hard skills) training to prepare them for a fresh start in society once they complete their sentences.

“We believe that empowerment is not merely about technical abilities but also about instilling confidence and mental resilience. This program complements the skill-based trainings already provided. We hope that by enhancing both practical and emotional well-being, inmates will be better equipped to lead independent, empowered lives in line with their individual potential,” Aribowo said.

He added that this initiative also reflects Jamkrindo’s commitment to supporting community empowerment and creating lasting social impact—goals that align with the aspirations of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises to foster positive, sustainable benefits for the public.

“This collaborative effort is part of Jamkrindo’s dedication to advancing social welfare and community development,” he noted.
