JAKARTA – PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) has distributed emergency relief for victims of the cold lava flood disaster in Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra. The aid includes essential supplies such as food staples, drinking water, mattresses, mats, clothing, blankets, milk, baby food, and more.
The relief was handed over at the Emergency Response Post in Tanah Datar Regency to the Assistant for Governance and Social Welfare of Tanah Datar Regency, Elizar, and the Head of the Tanah Datar Social Services, Afrizon. The initiative was led by Yusra Tanjung, Head of Jamkrindo’s Padang Branch, as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs.
Yusra stated that the aid is aligned with the guidance of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, who called on all BUMN entities to collaborate and support communities in need.
"This assistance is a rapid response from the company to provide emergency relief for the victims. We hope that the aid we provide will ease the burden on those affected by this disaster," said Yusra.
As part of the Indonesia Financial Group (IFG) holding, Jamkrindo consistently provides disaster relief for victims of natural disasters across Indonesia. The company remains proactive in delivering aid to affected communities, demonstrating its commitment and compassion to help people recover.

Background of the Disaster
The cold lava flood disaster struck several areas in West Sumatra, including Tanah Datar, Agam, Padang Panjang, and Padang Pariaman, due to heavy rains that caused rivers originating from Mount Marapi to overflow. The disaster began on Saturday, May 11, 2024, resulting in casualties and significant damage to homes and agricultural land.
The local government declared a 14-day emergency response period, starting from May 12 to May 25. Efforts during this period focus on victim search and rescue, as well as repairing homes and farmland affected by the disaster.
