Sukabumi, December 14, 2023 – PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) hosted a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event under the theme "Child Character Development through Teachers and Parents" at 11 public elementary schools in the Ciemas District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, located within the Ciletuh Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark area. This program reflects Jamkrindo's commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Indonesia.
Prita Widy Wardani, Branch Manager of Jamkrindo Sukabumi, emphasized that Jamkrindo recognizes the critical role of character development in children, as it significantly influences their behavior. "This activity is one of our forms of support for government programs aimed at creating future generations and leaders with strong character," said Prita.
The child character development program, which began on December 2, 2023, involves all teachers and principals from the 11 public elementary schools in the Ciemas District. The training is conducted using a "mobile training" approach, where training is brought directly to the schools. This method ensures that all teachers and staff in these schools can participate.
Prita further explained that the schools involved in this program include SDN Tamanjaya, SDN Cirambutan, SDN Sanggarawa 1, SDN Sanggarawa 2, SDN Ciemas, SDN Cikondang, SDN Cibenda, SDN Bojongwaru, SDN Ciloa, SDN Cibatu, and SDN Sindanghayu.
In addition to the teacher training program, Jamkrindo’s CSR initiative also included a parenting seminar for representatives of parents from the participating schools. The seminar focused on how to be a professional teacher at home and how to develop children's character at home.
Yudi Cucu Supriyadi, Head of the Quality and Institutional Sub-Coordinator of the Sukabumi Education Department, praised Jamkrindo’s initiative. "This is a significant step forward in improving the quality of education in Sukabumi. We hope that through this training, educators will develop their skills to provide better education to the future generation," he said.
Meanwhile, Sirodjudin, Head of Ciwaru Village, expressed hope that the program would not only improve teaching skills but also strengthen the relationship between schools, parents, and the community. "This program reflects the seriousness and collaboration of various parties in improving education and building the character of the next generation," said Sirodjudin.
Since 2019, Jamkrindo has been conducting community empowerment programs in the Ciletuh Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark area. These programs focus on environmental issues such as ecosystem restoration and plastic waste management. In line with these efforts, Jamkrindo also works on improving the local economy through programs that have a sustainable impact on the community.
Some of the empowerment initiatives include assisting and mentoring the Ciletuh Homestay Association, strengthening local livestock businesses, providing continuous assistance to the community, especially during the pandemic, and conducting health campaigns for students and parenting seminars and teacher training.
