Jamkrindo Distributes Hundreds of Free Glasses to Students in Eastern Indonesia

Jakarta – PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) has undertaken a social initiative offering eye examinations and distributing free glasses to elementary school students in Eastern Indonesia. This effort is part of the company's series of social activities commemorating Jamkrindo’s 53rd anniversary, celebrated on July 1, 2023.

Jamkrindo’s Corporate Secretary, Dody Novarianto, emphasized the significance of this initiative as a tangible demonstration of Jamkrindo’s commitment to supporting the health and educational needs of young students. A total of 530 free glasses were distributed through Jamkrindo’s Regional Offices and Branch Offices located in cities such as Makassar, Sorong, Ternate, Kendari, Gorontalo, Palopo, Pare-Pare, Ambon, Mamuju, Jayapura, and Manado.

Dody highlighted the importance of this program, acknowledging that many students lack access to corrective eyewear due to financial constraints. Meanwhile, the prevalence of myopia among school-age children continues to rise.

“We are committed to creating a positive social impact for our community. Improving the quality of education is one of our priorities, as it directly contributes to developing an excellent generation for Indonesia’s future,” Dody stated in a written release on Thursday, June 15, 2023.

A Strong Impact on Education

Julianty, Principal of SDN 1 Palu, expressed her gratitude to Jamkrindo for addressing early detection of vision issues among students. “The students were very enthusiastic about the eye exams. With improved vision, they are better equipped to excel academically,” she said.

Extending Social Contributions

In addition to distributing free glasses, Jamkrindo has also launched other impactful initiatives as part of its 53rd-anniversary celebrations. These include an anti-bullying and anti-sexual violence education program that reached 5,300 elementary school students in Jakarta and Bekasi. The program, conducted in collaboration with PAUD Inspirasi Indonesia and the National Commission for Child Protection (Komnas PA), aims to address and prevent bullying and sexual violence in schools.

“This initiative reflects our deep concern for the education sector and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting quality education, gender equality, and reducing inequalities,” Dody added.
