Banjarmasin, April 15, 2023 – Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir, is urging Indonesia’s younger generation to take an active role in rejuvenating BUMN leadership. He highlighted the ministry’s 2023 target of having millennials occupy 10% of leadership positions within state-owned enterprises, aiming to foster innovative and progressive leadership.

This was conveyed by the Special Staff to the Minister of BUMN, Arya Sinulingga, during the BUMN Goes to Campus event at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), Banjarmasin. The event, attended by over 400 students, featured insightful talk shows and interactive sessions with esteemed speakers.

One of the prominent speakers was Dian Purwaningrum, Senior Advisor to Chief Human Capital Officer for Employer Branding & HC Communication at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk and Head of Culture & Social Responsibility at FHCI. Dian highlighted that the Magang Bertalenta BUMN (Talented Internship Program) is a tangible effort by BUMN to support leadership regeneration, offering students opportunities to gain practical experience and contribute to state enterprises.

Harjanto, Head of IT Development at PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo), emphasized the importance of creativity in solving problems and discovering new opportunities in the professional world, urging ULM students to embrace innovation.

Meanwhile, R. Dany Budiman, Transaction Banking Retail Head at Bank Mandiri Region IX/Kalimantan, educated students on banking digitalization and introduced Livin by Mandiri, a digital banking solution designed to simplify daily life.

Arya Sinulingga reminded students of the critical role of soft skills in building a successful future. “The younger generation must excel in time management, develop strong character, and have excellent communication skills. These three qualities will determine your success in the future,” he stated.

To enrich the event, there were nine educational booths set up by 10 state-owned enterprises, including Mandiri, BNI, Pertamina, Jamkrindo, Jasa Raharja, Bukit Asam, Pelindo, Airnav, and PNM. The booths provided company profiles, internship opportunities, and career insights to the students of Universitas Lambung Mangkurat.

This initiative reflects the Ministry of BUMN’s commitment to preparing the younger generation to lead, innovate, and contribute to the nation’s progress through state-owned enterprises.
