Jakarta – PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) has distributed food aid packages to earthquake victims in Cianjur and Sukabumi, West Java. This initiative, part of the company’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program, reflects its commitment to alleviating the burden of disaster-affected communities.
Acting President Director of PT Jamkrindo, Kadar Wisnuwarman, emphasized that the aid was a spontaneous and urgent response to provide emergency assistance and first aid for earthquake victims.
“Hopefully, this assistance will ease the burden of the disaster victims,” said Kadar Wisnuwarman in a press release on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
Following this initial response, Jamkrindo, in collaboration with other state-owned enterprises (BUMN), will continue distributing aid under the coordination of the Disaster Task Force of the Ministry of SOEs.
The initial aid, comprising food packages, was symbolically handed over by Jamkrindo Regional Leader IV, Muchamad Kisworo, at two locations:
- The main post at Perum Perhutani Office.
- The disaster relief post at Ciarma Field, Sukamulya Village, Cugenang District, Cianjur.
These efforts were conducted in collaboration with the BUMN Disaster Task Force and Angkasa Pura.
For Sukabumi, the aid will be symbolically handed over by Jamkrindo Sukabumi Branch Leader, Prita Widy Wardani, at the BPDP Sukabumi Office on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.6, struck 10 km southwest of Cianjur. The quake caused significant damage to buildings and resulted in fatalities, with tremors felt as far as Jakarta, Bandung, Bogor, Depok, Sukabumi, and Tangerang. The Cianjur Regency Government declared a state of emergency to expedite disaster management and evacuate victims trapped under collapsed buildings.
