The award was personally received by the Head of Risk Management Division, Ceriandri Widuri, in Jakarta on Thursday, October 27, 2022.
The BUMN Awards event serves as a form of appreciation for state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and is also the most festive recognition of BUMN image-building practices. This year marks the first time the event included a performance evaluation of branding achievements, encompassing the four greatest works of communication and public relations (PR) professionals.
The awards are divided into two major categories: Brand Equity and Corporate Brand Communication Awards. The Brand Equity category includes Brand Popularity, Brand Image, Customer Satisfaction, and Social Economy Contribution. Meanwhile, the Corporate Brand Communication Awards category comprises Annual Reports, Company Profile Videos, Company Profile Prints, and Corporate Communications & PR Strategy.
This year’s BUMN Awards marks the fourth time the event has been held since its inception in 2019. The awards ceremony, held on the evening of October 27, 2022, was part of the activities of The Iconomics BUMN Forum 2022, which included seminars and concluded with the awards ceremony.
The 2022 BUMN Awards went through a series of activities to determine the award recipients. For the Brand Equity Award, the categories included Most Popular Brand, Best Brand Image, and Best Social Economy Contribution Perception. The winners were selected based on an online survey conducted with 10,000 respondents across 10 major cities in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Corporate Communications Award was presented for three corporate communication materials: the 2021 annual report, company profile video, and printed company profile. The winners were chosen based on the highest evaluation scores within their respective industry groups.
Some of the assessment criteria included design, which was expected to showcase artistic and creative aspects; content flow, which was expected to demonstrate a logical and easy-to-understand sequence; and narration, which was expected to convey accuracy, an appropriate tone, and language that elevates the institution.
In his opening speech at the 2022 BUMN Awards, The Iconomics Founder & CEO, Bram S. Putro, shared the background of the event. Firstly, it aims to popularize the role models developed by the award-winning BUMN companies.
Secondly, it seeks to encourage more BUMN companies to recognize the importance of brand equity. Lastly, it strives to enhance the image and reputation of BUMN companies and their subsidiaries.
