PT Jamkrindo continues its commitment to sustainable economic development in Ciletuh Palabuhanratu UNESCO Global Geopark (CPUGGp) by launching the third phase of tree planting at Pantai Palangpang, Ciwaru Village, Ciemas District, Sukabumi, West Java, on Saturday, February 5, 2022.
In addition to tree planting, the initiative was followed by a beach cleanup program at Pantai Palangpang on Sunday, February 6, 2022. These programs are part of Jamkrindo’s anti-plastic waste campaign, aimed at preserving the Geopark’s natural beauty, attracting more visitors, and enhancing the local economy.
PT Jamkrindo’s President Director, Putrama Wahju Setyawan, emphasized that this initiative is a concrete contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the environmental sector. This aligns with the Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) priorities set by BUMN (State-Owned Enterprises Ministry).
“This tree-planting program has been ongoing since 2019. We believe that by improving cleanliness and environmental conservation, the Geopark can offer greater value. Our anti-plastic waste campaign complements this effort,” said Putrama.
Putrama further explained that Jamkrindo’s community empowerment program in Ciletuh follows BUMN’s directive to align corporate social responsibility initiatives with the principle of Creating Shared Value (CSV)—balancing economic and social value creation.
Jamkrindo’s sustainability initiatives in Geopark Ciletuh begin with environmental restoration, focusing on ecosystem improvements and plastic waste management. These efforts are followed by economic empowerment programs that provide long-term benefits to the local community.
Among its key initiatives, Jamkrindo collaborates with PPM School of Management students to empower local communities through honeybee farming. The program began with technical training sessions at Ciwaru Village Hall, Ciemas District, involving 30 participants.
This honeybee farming program adds to Jamkrindo’s existing community empowerment initiatives, which include: Hydroponic farming, Sheep farming, Mango chip production, Homestay management training
