JAKARTA – The Komunitas Penggiat Kopi Lokal organized the Garut Expo Coffee Competition and UKM Thrift 2022 on January 15-16, 2022, with the aim of revitalizing the economy of Garut, particularly focusing on the coffee commodity. The event was an important step in supporting the recovery of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the region.

The competition saw the participation of 200 competitors and 29 SMEs, including Kopi Salarea, a local coffee brand supported by PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo), which participated in the competition represented by Rio Ardiyansah.

Abdul Bari, the Corporate Secretary of Jamkrindo, welcomed the event as a positive step towards the economic recovery of SMEs, especially in the coffee sector. Garut, known as one of the coffee producers in West Java, has been successful in penetrating global coffee markets.

"Jamkrindo, through its Bandung regional office and branches, is proud to support the Garut Expo Coffee Competition and UKM Thrift 2022. We are pleased to see that our partner, Pawon Kopi Salarea with the brand Kopi Salarea, is participating in this event," Bari said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday (6/1/2022).

Jamkrindo has been actively involved in empowering coffee farmers in Garut, West Java, through training and support to improve the quality of coffee and provide added value for local coffee farmers.

Dody Novarianto, Head of Jamkrindo's Bandung Region IV, also shared his thoughts on the event: "This collaboration between Jamkrindo, Gapensi, BJB, and local SMEs is expected to help revive the economy at the beginning of 2022," he said.

Rio Ardiyansah, a representative of Kopi Salarea, expressed that one of the reasons for joining the competition was to raise awareness of Garut's coffee quality. "The potential of local coffee in Garut is immense. We want our local coffee to grow, which will help boost the economy of our region. We also appreciate Jamkrindo for the ongoing support they've provided in developing coffee in Cibatu," Rio shared.

Jamkrindo continues to be actively involved in empowering SMEs through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. In Garut, Jamkrindo has supported the development of coffee plantations, provided coffee seedlings, processing equipment, and conducted training for farmers.

Jamkrindo’s community-based empowerment programs have also been implemented in other regions such as Geopark Ciletuh, the cashew farmers of Larantuka, East Flores, Bali’s Kintamani coffee farmers, and several other locations across the company’s operational units.

In addition to supporting local economic empowerment, Jamkrindo has consistently provided environmental assistance in the areas of education, SME empowerment, and health throughout Indonesia via its regional offices.

As a member of the IFG holding group, Jamkrindo, as a credit guarantee company, offers a range of products, including programs such as Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR), working capital credit (KMK) to support national economic recovery, housing liquidity facility guarantees (FLPP), suretyship guarantees, and other types of credit guarantees.
