Jakarta – PT Jamkrindo, together with 35 State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), collaborated in the "Bakti Untuk Veteran" (Service for Veterans) program, distributing Merdeka package staple goods in partnership with the Legiun Veteran Republik Indonesia (LVRI). This initiative covered Jakarta, Depok, and Bekasi, benefiting 8 regional branches and 4 special branches of LVRI DKI Jakarta. The program was held in commemoration of Indonesia's 76th Independence Day as a tribute to veterans who fought for the nation's independence.
"PT Jamkrindo continuously implements partnership and community development programs as part of our corporate social and environmental responsibility. We hope this assistance can help alleviate the burden on society, especially for Indonesia’s veterans during the pandemic," said Putrama Wahju Setyawan, President Director of PT Jamkrindo, in a written statement on Wednesday (August 18, 2021).
This initiative was part of a program initiated by the Ministry of SOEs' Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Division, supported by 35 SOEs, including PT Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI) as the coordinator and staple goods provider, in collaboration with BTN, IFG Indonesia Financial Group, Askrindo, Jamkrindo, Asuransi Jasindo, Pelindo II, Pegadaian, Wijaya Karya (WIKA), Taspen, Perhutani, Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP), Sarinah, Perusahaan Pengelola Aset (PPA), Angkasa Pura I & II, AirNav Indonesia, ASDP Indonesia Ferry, Perum Percetakan Negara RI (PNRI), Sucofindo, Pos Indonesia, Surveyor Indonesia, Kliring Berjangka Indonesia, Hutama Karya, Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI), Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER), Dahana, Pelindo III, Asabri, Jasa Tirta I & II, PTPN Holding, LKBN Antara, and Balai Pustaka. Through this collaboration, a total of 3,000 staple food packages were distributed to LVRI.
The Chairman of LVRI Jakarta, Marsda (Ret.) Sri Boedjono, stated that 3,000 veterans in DKI Jakarta are supported through the LVRI organization. "We live with different social conditions, but we share a common identity as Indonesian citizens. I truly appreciate and thank the leaders of the 35 SOEs for their participation in providing aid to our veteran elders. This is a source of pride for us, as the assistance includes essential food supplies and vitamins to support our well-being," he said.
Meanwhile, Agus Suharyono, Assistant Deputy for Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) at the Ministry of SOEs, highlighted that the Bakti Untuk Veteran (BUV) program is a form of concern for stakeholders during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly Indonesian veterans. "One of the roles of SOEs is to provide social and economic benefits to the people of Indonesia. Therefore, we remain committed to supporting one of our key stakeholders—Indonesia’s veterans," said Agus Suharyono in his speech at the event.
The distribution of aid to veterans took place in five phases starting from August 15, 2021: Phase I: 698 packages were distributed through DPC LVRI East Jakarta, Bekasi City, and Bekasi Regency, Phase II: 1,075 packages were distributed on August 16, 2021, to LVRI North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and South Jakarta, Phase III: 642 packages were distributed to LVRI Central Jakarta and LVRI Depok, Final Phase (August 18, 2021): 369 packages were distributed to LVRI DKI Jakarta board members, LVRI support staff, and special LVRI branches, including Kopassus, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Brimob veterans.
The Bakti Untuk Veteran 2021 event was attended by 12 regional LVRI representatives from DKI Jakarta, marking a significant tribute to Indonesia’s national heroes.
