BUMN Joint Vaccination Center Has Vaccinated Over 100,000 Indonesians

The addition of two new BUMN Joint Vaccination Centers, located at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta, and the Pusat Rekreasi Promosi Pembangunan (PRPP) in Semarang, Central Java, has significantly increased the number of vaccinated Indonesians. In just 15 days since the first center opened at Istora Senayan, more than 100,000 senior citizens and public service workers have received free vaccinations.

The success of this initiative has earned high praise from Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Erick Thohir, who expressed his appreciation to the senior citizens and frontline workers who enthusiastically participated in the vaccination program.

As of two weeks since the launch, the BUMN Joint Vaccination Centers have administered vaccines to 103,228 Indonesians. This program, initiated by the Ministry of BUMN in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Jakarta Provincial Government, and Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC), has made a significant contribution to the government’s second phase of the national vaccination program.

“Although we still have a long way to go in vaccinating all senior citizens and public service workers, the BUMN Joint Vaccination Centers have made a real impact in accelerating the national vaccination program. My appreciation also goes to doctors, nurses, and volunteers who continue to serve tirelessly,” said Minister Erick Thohir in Jakarta.

Despite the high demand for vaccinations, the public is encouraged to follow the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health to ensure a smooth process. One key regulation concerns the timing for the second vaccine dose. According to a circular letter from the Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control (Kemenkes RI) on Optimizing COVID-19 Vaccination Implementation, the interval between the first and second dose is set at 28 days for both adults and the elderly.

To prevent vaccine wastage, the government has implemented strict monitoring measures. Minister Erick Thohir emphasized the importance of adhering to the 28-day rule, stating, “As the Ministry of Health regulates vaccine distribution, we must comply with the established schedule to ensure effective use of vaccine supplies.”

In the coming months, the BUMN Joint Vaccination Centers will be expanded to Surabaya, East Java, as part of the government’s goal to achieve one million vaccinations per month. The second phase of the national vaccination program targets: 21.5 million senior citizens, 16.9 million public service workers.

PT Jamkrindo President Director, Putrama Wahju Setyawan, expressed confidence that the national economy will begin to recover, particularly for MSMEs. He noted that the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination campaign will gradually restore the MSME sector, which has been among the hardest hit by the pandemic.

“The availability of vaccines will boost optimism for recovery,” Putrama stated.

He highlighted that many MSMEs struggled to survive during the pandemic, with some forced to shut down. However, various government programs have provided essential support, helping MSMEs stay afloat and gradually recover.

"The government’s real actions in supporting MSMEs have had a tremendous impact," he said.

Putrama praised the Ministry of BUMN’s leadership in launching the Joint Vaccination Centers, calling it a key success factor in the national vaccination rollout.

“The easy registration process and responsive services have greatly increased public enthusiasm for vaccinations. The government’s proactive efforts in accelerating the national vaccination program offer a much-needed sense of hope for MSMEs,” he said.

Putrama believes that economic recovery will be led by the revival of MSMEs, as they are the backbone of the national economy.

“I am confident that economic recovery will begin with the revival of MSMEs, as the majority of Indonesian businesses are MSMEs,” he added.
